A downtown Atlanta mall manager known for shocking people with a Taser is out of a job and facing charges.
Darien Long worked at the downtown Metro Mall for more than a year. He became known for posting videos that showed him using his Taser against people who refused to leave mall property. He would record the incidents with cameras on his vest and head.
On Thursday, he was arrested after a confrontation with a man he said was trespassing. A witness said Long tried but was unable to pull out his Taser.

You get what you pay for! If that Mall is that bad where security guards are using tasers — then go shop somewhere else...and then he posts them — who does that???
Because he’s stupid. And stupid is supposed to hurt.
A sicko does things like that. Next he’ll probably go work at an animal shelter where he can take out his sadistic thrills on the animals.
One of his videos was posted here on FR. If you had seen it, you would have, most likely, applauded his restraint at the time before he used the tazer. It was plainly obvious who was in the right and who was not.
This “guard”, now having obtained some notoriety via the YouTube vids may now have a different mind-set and may seek out confrontations. I cannot say. It could also be that he was being set up this time. I don’t know. I think we ought not be so quick to judge.
Atlanta is a very violent city.
Now the mall can hire moonlighting policemen who will end up doing the same thing and it will be fine. His biggest problem is that he tried to handle these people on his own, which means this urban trash will find a lawyer in a purple suit to sue him and the mall. He would have been better served to have call the local PD on a frequent basis, had the people trespassed and banned from the property.
You folk have no idea what you’re talking about, just jumping to conclusions, this man is a hero, not sure what rock you have been living under if you don’t know who he is by now. He handles on a daily basis all the sons and daughters of King Obozo who harass the local business’ and patrons at that mall. Just YouTube some of his videos and see the low life scum he has to deal with every day. He uses the camera as a form of protection for himself not because he is a ‘sicko’, but of cause now the good guy gets arrested but the cops could never be bothered to handle all the scum who frequented that mall.
The thugs are lawyering up to put this guy out of commission. There will be jubilation in every crack house in the city if he’s put away.
Okay, I gather that this guy has to deal with all kinds of idiots from the entitlement community you like to roll in to the mall and think that’s it’s their living room...no issues there - but one should take in the consideration, as posted to me from another freeper, that he was set up. If this was the case, I’m sure posting videos on YouTube brought that on...gangsters aren’t dumb - even their choice of life style is - but the point remains he should have remained a professional and gathered that video for character strength in such a case as this...now the perception is that what was a truthful endeavor to protect those businesses in the mall - and turned to that individual posting videos for notoriety - and in the end, landed his butt in jail! Like you said, i don’t know - and I don’t - but what I do know is that video evidence must be handled in a way to protect the individual and the property he is protecting - and should have never been allowed to be posted inline for the pubic to see...so I go back to my original statement, you get what you pay for! What those businesses got is a major win for the guy that apparently was doing good - but now is out on his own in jail and probably won’t be back to work — so those low life scumbags you mentioned will be back in mass now thinking they have won...and that’s bad - real bad...
Let the dam place burn to the ground. Fuggem.
