AMC's smash hit series the "Walking Dead" is one of the biggest things on cable and economic uncertainty may be one reason why, creator Robert Kirkman told CNBC on Friday.
"I've always felt zombies didn't really get their due. As far as movie monsters go you see a lot of vampires, werewolf stuff. And it's just now zombies are getting recognized being as cool as they actually are," Kirkman said.

I think people are attracted to this kind of entertainment in order to toughen themselves for the future.
Zombies are cool? A real zombie attack would be like an open air theme park where rednecks would walk around shooting them at random. The zombie apocalypse would last for about 24 hours in Texas.

The zombies thrive on government incomes and services with most customers receiving government incomes (especially local governments fat on federal pork). In the end of the default process, they’ll have no juicy targets to rob but each other. They’ll all be looking at their own layoffs and foreclosures soon. There will be food (USA—remember?), but toys and fuel will be scarce.
