It will either follow his lead to the left and become irrelevant, or the Cruz/Paul wing will take over and revive it. Either way, Rove is surfing the wave of the past.
America will suffer the same fate as we did in Canada. After decades of multi-party opposition to homosexual “marriage”, the governing Liberal party rammed it through Parliament in 2005 after a cabal of media, academics, special interest groups, judges and politicians perpetrated a fraud on the Canadian people. Phony polls, non-stop media coverage of a supposed “shift” in the views of Canadians, the failure of the Liberal party to unequivocally state that it was in favour of the abomination, and a supposedly “conservative” opposition party that refused to make the issue a key issue in the 2004 election. Once the establishment coalesces around an idea it is almost impossible to stop it. And the Republican establishment is clearly in the process of capitulating. It’s not just Rove, just read National Review Online and you’ll see how the pro-homosexual charge is being led by Jonah Goldberg, the founding editor of NRO, who has been undermining the conservative opposition to homosexual marriage for over a decade.
“GOP strategist Karl Rove..”
Interesting turn of phraseology.
For the guy who thought his anointed one - Romney - would win, to his series of near misses with the last incompetent to sit in the White House before the current boob stole the elections - twice.
Same here and take his friend Dicky Morris with him.
Agreed. I despise both of them.
Gee. I can’t imagine the GOP looking at all the votes their pro gay candidate got and thinking “We can do this”.
Nope. Sure can’t.
Reading your posts lately I think you are in the wrong place.
I will not be voting for a gay marriage supporting Republican, and neither will I be voting against a Democrat, they’ll be indistinguishable!
Yeah but to win the gop needs be “ more inclusive”.
Sounds like crappola to me.
Need be conservative not dem lite
Early on in the primaries, demand that candidates assert that until nomination, and if they are nominated, that they will under no circumstances employ Karl Rove, or any of his peers or underlings, in any capacity.
And if elected, the party will officially declare him to be “personna non grata”.
Rove’s stepfather was gay. So his position on this issue is not a surprise.
Then they might as well change their party affiliation and run as a Democrat. I'll never vote for another GOP RINO pick...ever.
Or Bush's brain
Or Bush's brain
Maintaining power in the hands of republicans is the ultimate goal.
This is not synonymous with promoting conservative principles. Principles be damned! Keeping republicans in power is the name of the game.
Just like electing the first black president stopped the race card from being played any more?
The right to private property really isn't fair and must be done away with? Or maybe it will be determined the right to peaceably assemble and to petition the government for redress of grievances is dangerous to
dictators government, and is only contemplated by "extremists." Usually TEA Partiers.
I think removal of the right to bear arms campaign is a bridge too far, but losing that won't stop them and they will go for any seemingly small victory to gain a foothold. What's next?
Just read the 1963 list of Communist goals and cross-reference it with the time since. You’ll have your answer.
Rove, Noonan, Hume, Perino, Portman and others who think the base specially down in the south will support this then they are mistaken.
After speaking to a bunch of guys about this today then they are really missing how much people are pissed off about this
Sarah, Michelle Bachmann, Cruz, Ryan, etc are the future, Rove, and his elitist pals can take a flying leap off a building as far as I’m concerned and the likes of Hannity who sucked up to this idiot had better wake the hell up , stop giving these idiots a platform and start to mention about thia agenda.
This family will never vote for any man or woman who is a coward on this issue and social issues or supports this communist agenda
Like Sarah said, if he;s for what he is then why doesn’t he run and lets see how he fairs in an election
same here but after talking to a bunch of guys today around here then I ma not the only one
lawyers are looking forward to suing churches, teachers who won’t teach this in the schools, photographers who wont do the wedding.
out goes the very basic reason why this country was founded, religious freedom of which no one is talking about
Porky Pig is right and the candidates name is Rand Paul.
Rove’s brilliance seems to be a finger in the wind.
Nobody cares what Rove says anymore.
society rewards the institution not the individual
homosexual conduct is ONLY about recreational sex.
recreational sex contributes nothing to society
homoseuxal conduct contributes nothing to society.
we used to have a non-public system of marriage recording. This lead to inheritance fraud, bigamy, and abandonment of children.
marriage is about intestate property rights. not just land, but all the other associated property rights. homosexuals have always been free to sign a form cohabitation agreenmtent. 19.95 online or at your local office supply store.
this is not about marriage, this is about declarining the way two homosexual men pop an orgasm as the legal equivalent of a mother giving birth.
The associated press propaganda service.
fake story for a goebles student.
Lawyers are also looking forward to divorce cases.
It’s all $$$.
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.[Posted on 01/31/2013 5:08:50 PM PST by xzins]
