Mississippi state lawmaker Jessica Upshaw was found dead in a residence on Sunday with a bullet wound to her head, the Clarion Ledger reports.
Upshaw, a 53-year-old Republican, was found in the home of former Mississippi State Rep. Clint Rotenberry, Simpson County Sheriff Kenneth Lewis told the Clarion Ledger.

Simpson County Sheriff Kenneth Lewis told the Clarion Ledger. Lewis told the Clarion Ledger that the case had been turned over to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, and that he doesn’t know whether her death was a suicicide.
I’m no expert, but I believe it is rare for women to commit suicide by shooting themselves in the head.
Hopefully she wasn’t a victim of the DemocRATs’ “national conversation” about “gun control”.
It does happen - I personally knew a gal who did so about 20-odd years ago, but like you said, it’s rare.
Used a 12 gauge. Messy.
Same thing, a friend of mine killed herself with a shotgun about 15 years ago.
Rare, but not unheard of.
How long until Tea Party is put to blame?
would not be the first time the radical left has got a gun and shot someone.
Look at the last shooter in DC who was egged on by the bigoted hateful SPLC and who went itbo the family research place to kill.
Is the SPLC being sued over that ?
You can guarantee that if tables were turned the SPLC woudl have gone full throttle to sue and take all that money for their own agenda
Thanks Texas Fossil. Good evening, all.
If we had an assault weapons ban, hi-cap mag ban and universal firearm registration, this poor woman probably would still be alive.
The big question is what was she doing at his house. She was 53 and single. He is 60.
Had she killed herself at her house, my first thought would be an inoperable cancer diagnosis.
There was no mention of contact with Rotenberry. We shall see.
She was single and her body was found in his home. You tell me.
Maybe Freedom From Religion sent someone in to make a bloody protest against prayer in school.
Gun-banning douchenozzles REALLY need another pool of blood to dance in, and if they got a krazy to pop a Republican woman, well, that's double points on the ol' "bipartisan" scale.
Sorry if that sounds paranoid, but I just don't put anything past them anymore.
You just wait: it will be said on MSNBC.
Well he’s a rotten berry-— suspicious enough ay?
they are both Republicans
Oh, man. This is bad.
Thanks for the ping, Petitfour.
Sounds to me like a love affair gone wrong.
Nothing is paranoia with Obozo’s children.
Guess we shall see.
I hope never.
I take it she was white?
I used to do those little rapids at Merit
In the 60s
Took my boys last year...still there
Round Table still in Mendenhall?
Who were those folks...Morgans. or Normans
Dam im old
Is he married?
From the daily mail
Rotenberry did not answer his phone, and his answering machine was full.

Talk about messy suicides - - I heard of two recently: one guy drilled himself in the heart with a power drill, and another guy sawed off his own head with a table saw.
Her bio says she is from Meridian but represents Diamondhead, MS. I don’t remember ever hearing of Diamondhead, but I guess it is a part of the Biloxi/Gulfport area.
You beat me to it. Was just about to list the link.
At the time it was listed he showed to be married.
Wonder if he still is? If so, did his wife catch them?
I had a friend who did so last week.
No easy to deal with.
You always ask: Could I have done something different?
Simpson County Sheriff Kenneth Lewis said that Upshaw was found at the home of former Mississippi state Rep. Clint Rotenberry. Rotenberry had not been arrested.
It could be that Rotenberry and his wife were out of town and she was staying at their home. If that happened and someone killed her, this is really strange.
Diamondhead is north of I-10 in Hancock County. It’s about a half-hour or so away from Gulfport.
From the posted link.
“It’s not clear why Upshaw was at Rotenberry’s house.”
Someone has some “splaining to do”.
That’s the kind of suicides gun control causes;>)
While they will forget about the black teenager that shot the baby in head in it’s stroller....
Waiting for the ‘shot with high-power, high capacity assault rifle’ line?
Hopefully the police let the EMTs into this crime scene.
I’ve got kin in Simpson county. Don’t know if either of these is my kin though.
Those rapids are popular in the summer.
Prayers with family.

Rep. Jessica Upshaws death comes weeks after black openly gay Clarksdale mayoral candidate Marco McMillian was found murdered. Lawrence Reed was arrested in the homicide.
What is going on?
Fixed it. No one is going to touch the black on white infanticide attack by the black teenager/monster because Malik Shabazz is on record as exhorting black youth to target Caucasian infants. We need to bring back cruel and unusual punishment. I suggest live drawing and quartering then holding the decapitation for last then boiling the parts in oil. Call me a racist but I don't need any "investigation" to know why the black teen offed the white infant. Watch, the DA's office will scour the local university to dredge up an economics professor who will attest that the shooting of the white infant was no doubt the result of years of economic oppression experienced by the perp, so it is most certainly NOT a HATE CRIME.
It might be a little difficult for him to explain this. A dead body is not something you want in your house very often.
Seen Hillary! lately, hmmm?
Maybe. The answer is always maybe.
In the long run, reality says no, nothing you or any other human agency can do will prevent that end for anyone determined to escape their personal Hell.
