People don't love it myself included but the emergency manager is the best bad option. Despite the fantasies to the contrary, letting Detroit or any large city die isn't even an option.
I'll never understand convoluted FReeper thinking. FReepers should be glad to see an instate solution when the only other solution is to dump the burden on taxpayers nationwide. At least with republicans running the show Detroit won't be getting a blank check and no oversight.
I just wish conservatives would turn this bad situation into an opportunity. Big private money is flowing into Detroit and conservatives should encourage the rebuilding of the families and faith of Detroiters. It could be one of the greatest conservative victories of all time.
There are no easy answers' but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.

Remember that billionaire who said he would give Detroit millions to build charter schools? The Detroit commies ran him out of town.
The state sending in a bankruptcy manager is a good first step, but it needs to be followed with investigators arresting those responsible. Punishment must be a part of the solution or it will happen again. There must be consequences to committing crimes. Arrests should start with Granholm.

I agree.
The Feds took fiscal control of DC back for several years when it was way in the red, it worked. I hope this works in D-town.
As a big city dweller this matters to me.
