I support all sorts of polygamy marriages - even with non-human species. Why, because it will further debunk all these so called “marriages.” Then the Catholic Church which is the only surviving entity that says marriage can only be between one man and one woman for life (until the death of one of the spouses) will be the only one with true marriages. Then the Catholic Church will see its way more clearly to recongize no marriages other than those performed by the Catholic Church.

I want to marry my daughter and my cats. So what is the problem? Same-sex? Incest? Inter-species? Polygamy? Or the fact that my cat is underage?

...I could never even conceive of marrying my cat...she refuses to brush her teeth after eating a fish dinner...

Didn’t kennedy say Lawrence would NOT lead to legalizing homosexual marriage? He either was right or he was lying.

I’m waiting to see what happens when the gay “community” starts to see the dark side of gay marriage — gay divorce. On the other hand, that might lead to some needed reforms in divorce law.

Polygamy is biblical.

Estate taxes are tip of iceberg. The action is social security. I’ve been saying this for years. If loving your “spouse” is the only criteria then why should the government prevent me from “marrying” my granddaughter so she can collect my social security survivors benefits? Platonic marriage will become all the rage.

There isn’t a single commandment sanctioning it. There are ones about not multiplying wives to oneself, though.

Something is not automatically “biblical” by virtue of being mentioned in the Bible. By that logic, people might think that what Jephthah did to his daughter was acceptable to God when it was not.

One of the biggest proofs that God is against polygamy is how Ishmael was not acceptable as Abraham’s son.

And if by “biblical” people mean that the Bible advocates something, then the slippery slope that they are on also might mean to them that the Bible advocates prostitution merely because Judah and Samson sought out prostitutes.

while homosexuality has almost always been viewed as a disgusting perversion of nature.

Well the Supreme Court changed all that. Now they have no legal basis to deny marriage between queers. Next up: a bi sexuual will be allowed to marry his girlfriend and his boyfriend. I am afraid that horse has already left the gate.

Good news for Warren Jeffs. If he ever gets out of prison he will have dozens of new prospects for marriage with all of his cell mates. Imagine the wonderful eternity.

Polygamy is biblical.

Oh?

Then why did the Lord GOD command against it?

Deuteronomy 17:14-17

14 When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;

15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.

16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.

17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

Polygamy is biblical.

It is MENTIONED in the bible; always negatively.

I could say that MURDER is 'biblical' as well.

Note the special case of brothers living together. Once the other brothers get married off, they would not be living together.

That doesn't make any sense. The brothers were living together when one of them died, leaving a widow. C'mon, man. Stop resisting this. The simple truth is that God allowed polygamy, and even required it under some circumstances. If that's true, and it is, then it follows that polygamy can't be inherently sinful. As my Catholic background theology might put it, it might break the ecclesiastical law (no small matter for Catholics, at least), but it doesn't violate the Natural Law (Aquinas states this clearly).

Sodomy is a gross violation of the Natural Law. Unlike polygamy, it is inherently sinful.

As a people, we Americans have turned our backs on the Natural Law and made a huge step toward Hell. Morally speaking, we passed polygamy long ago on the road to Hell. It's just taking the legal theoreticians a little time to figure that out.

Right now he has no need for gay 'marriage'; as all his needs are fuklfilled by the State.

It's ALL about ECONOMICS anyway.

We don't STOP fags from living together, or
LOVING together, or
any other legal contract they want to enter into about the disposition of their eartly goods or who can make medical decisions for them.

The ONLY thing they gain from their 'union' is a tax advantage.

Therefore, any taxes they WOULD have paid will be made up by the rest of us; thereby effectively SUBSIDIZING their chosen lifestyle.

I could tell you to “stop resisting this” too. There is no approval of polygamy in the Bible at all, even in the special case of levirate marriage.

Nor is there any mention of so-called “Natural Law” in the Bible; that’s derived from the philosophies of people like Aristotle and Plato.

There is no approval of polygamy in the Bible at all, even in the special case of levirate marriage.

You're being intentionally obtuse. How is this not approval?

Deuteronomy 21:15 If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated: 21:16 Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn: 21:17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.

What is it about "if a man have two wives" do you find challenging? Sheesh. Knock this off. As Christians we're supposed to be searching for the Truth. You're behaving like a liberal who's confronted with some reality that doesn't fit into a preconceived narrative.

Nor is there any mention of so-called “Natural Law” in the Bible;

Wrong again, Troll Folk.

Romans 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another

The Natural Law contains the basic rules of morality that don't need Scripture for proof because they've already been "written our hearts" by God Himself. It's what C.S. Lewis called the "Tao." You don't need a Bible to tell you that stealing is wrong. That's the Natural Law. As St. Augustine put it:

Theft is surely punished by your law, O Lord, and by the law that is written in the human heart, the law that iniquity itself does not efface.

I see no way they can deny polygamy using the same criteria the perverts use to justify gay marriage, there is no difference.

This is headed for legalizing incest and pedophilia in the long run. Nothing will be sacred, anything will go. Oh they will of course consider this radical scaremongering but we have been here before with the issue of gay marriage.

As a society and country we’re done it’s just a question of when it collapses upon it’s amoral, corrupt and bankrupt self. Sad...

I really hope you are not ignoring Matthew 19:8 and Mark 10:5 here, especially the “hardness of the (Israelites’) hearts”. That applies to divorce and polygamy. Christians (especially the clerical leaders) are admonished to be the “husband of one wife” (1 Timothy 3:2, Titus 1:6; “mias gynaikos” means “one wife”). Cross-reference Deuteronomy 17:17.

If you are going to search for the truth, search for all of it. Man has to live by every word of God, omitting nothing and adding nothing to it. The phrase “every man did that which was right in his own eyes” is in the book of Judges twice, as a warning to us.

And Romans 2:14 has nothing to do with the pagan concept of “natural law”. The Greek word “phusei” (literally “growth”) used here refers to a habit or custom passed on from generation to generation, which is taught rather than innate.
