A pitbull like that that a whole crew of them couldn’t control shouldn’t have been out in the public at all.

Notice how they report it as if it was his third cousin’s dog or something—it was their daughter’s—that is, their family—dog.

“They are vacationing there”

I guess when you are the proud owners of a “gun advocacy group”
you have a lot of extra time and money for vacations!

...a reckless buffoon who couldn't be trusted with a firearm. He sure as hell is reckless with his pets.

And shooting his mouth off.

Isnt it against the law to harrass or injure marine mammals in CA? How does this guy just walk away without at least a huge fine?

The video is sad. That poor little sea lion didn’t stand a chance with one woman tugging at the creature while Giffords dog wouldn’t release.

“The dog was supposed to have broken from its leash. More likely slipped its collar. “

The video shows the leash is still attached to the dog and Kelly uses the leash to lead the dog off the beach. Most likely the dog pulled the leash out of his daughter’s hands as it went to kill the sea lion. CA takes injuring or harrassing marine mammals VERY seriously. How he escaped charges for KILLING one sounds strange. I’m sure it couldn’t be because his wife is/was a US rep or that he is an ass-tronaught. If my dog killed one I would probably end up in jail.

Other thoughts- Kelly’s pit bull has killed more things than my assault rifle. It also killed more sea lions than Mitt Romney’s dog.

Gifford's is a guy who is making a living off of vilifying people with so-called dangerous weapons, yet he allows his daughter to walk a bull dog among seals on a beach. A bull dog, arguably one of the most dangerous of dogs, had no business near the seals; & as the video shows, the dog was out of control. I'd say Giffords would have had just as much trouble pulling the dog off a child. He's lucky the dog didn't attack one of the people trying to pull him off the seal.

For us commoners, this incident would be a crime & the dog impounded.

Giffords is another one of those liberal hypocrites who believe “do what I say, not what I do”. Leading by example never occurs to these jerks.

And, it seems the Giffords have become very aware of the dangers around them, such that they are buying guns & have a big, scary dog. Too bad they don't advocate such self defense for the rest of us.

Fish and Wildlife will likely pay Kelly's daughter a visit and cite her for killing a sea lion, still a protected species.

Apparently, you don't understand how politics works.

Are they sure this is an American Bulldog? I've never seen a full grown American Bulldog weigh only 65 pounds. They are usually 90 pounds and up. Could this be a pitbull mix instead of a pure bred American Bulldog?

That's pretty damn sad...Ya got the dog owner and in fact 3 women who can't even control this GD dog.

Why have a dog if ya can't even control it?

I wish these liberal stupid ass tourist would find somewhere else to take their stinking vacations.

Thank you for the link to the video, Selene

That dog is completely out of control. He is in serious need of obedience training. No matter what he has in his mouth, if his owner tells him “let go,” he should INSTANTLY drop whatever it is and sit down.

Kelly had to drag the dog off the seal and the dog resisted being led away, both near the seal and later in the sand on the way off the beach.

None of this bad behavior by the dog is the dog’s fault. It is all the fault of Kelly and Kelly’s daughter.

If an owner has no voice-command control of her dog, she has no business taking the dog out to a public place.

What if the seal pup had been a human child?

An additional travesty is that neither Kelly, nor the dog, nor Kelly’s daughter will be suffering any consequences at all for the bad behavior of the dog and the death of the protected seal pup.

If it were a Conservative who had done such a [unladylike words - long string of them] maneuver, they’d be in court getting sentenced to prison and fined into penury by now.

Clearly he needs a dog license to prove he’s responsible enough.

He needs something, that’s for sure...

A muzzle for himself AND his assault dog.
