The Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein had and/or was in the act of violating just about every kind of international law of nations and warfare you can name. As a member of the United Nations Security Council and one of the authors of the Kellogg-briand Treaty with the later enforcement agreements, the United States had an international legal and moral obligation and right to lead the effort conduct diplomatic and military campaigns with the aim of restoring peace and compliance with international law. Everything else to the contrary is simply false propaganda designed to change the subject and avoid responsibility.
