Rick Scott 'deeply disappointed,' demands investigation
Floridas governor is jumping into the national controversy over a college professor who forced students to stomp on the name of Jesus, and hes now calling for an official investigation into the matter.
Republican Rick Scott has written a letter to Frank Brogan, chancellor of the states university system, saying, I am deeply disappointed in the recent action of Florida Atlantic University faculty that raises significant questions over students rights and the lessons being taught in our classrooms.
As we enter the week memorializing the events of Christs passion, this incident gave me great concern over the lessons we are teaching our students, Scott continued. The professors lesson was offensive, and even intolerant, to Christians and those of all faiths who deserve to be respected as Americans entitled to religious freedom.
As WND previously reported, the professor who gave the assignment, Deandre Poole, turns out also to be the vice-chairman of the Palm Beach County Democratic Party.
Poole ignited outrage across the U.S. for requiring students to write Jesus on a piece of paper, then put it on the floor and stomp on it.
But Ryan Rotela, a junior from Coral Springs, Fla., said while some of his classmates complied with the assignment, he refused.
Anytime you stomp on something it shows that you believe that something has no value. So if you were to stomp on the word Jesus, it says that the word has no value, he told the local CBS TV affiliate WPEC.
A religious Mormon who attends church every Sunday, Rotela complained to school officials.......

Has anyone asked about the religious affiliation of this moron professor? I just wonder.....
The governor should have them ask the prof if he has the balls to have his students do that to the Koran.
In a classroom full of students, only ONE KID protested.
What does that tell you about the indoctrinated youts?
Good...it’s probably a state money supported institution and he’s probably getting a raff of calls from parents or students...colleges are destroying their golden goose with goons like this guy.
he;s an idiot who probably shuts we want equal rights but ignores how affirmative ation gives poeple jobs on campus becuse of their race. or religion.
Fire the guy
“I’m a perpetually offended minority. Gotta problem with that?”
Truth to that. I heard on Beck yesterday that the school profusely apologized. Screw that! Fire the “professor” and sue the school. Glad the governor is getting involved.
Waiting for Sharpton and Jackson to play the race card.
It is about time some of these radicals and PC idiots get the tables turned on them.
Next, that old gal who is banning Easter should be investigated.
Until the light of day is shown on these kinds of cockroaches, they will continue to contaminate society with their new social order.
Or ask the prof if he has the balls to have all of his students draw a picture of Mohammed and Allah and stomp on that. We’ll be waiting - a long time, I’m sure.
Students got a video apology via e-mail yesterday.
I hope this 'professor' loses his job. Today, preferably.
I wish someone down there would have the guts to call for a “Stomp On Mohaamed” day and see if the school ‘professor’ here would participate.
Dare him to do it on National TV
is this the rino governor’s way of trying to make up for taking obamacare money and his helping to lynch george zimmerman?
It says alot about liberals and indoctrination. They are leading many souls to perdition and will someday pay a very heavy price.
Sadly, many people like Biden are allowed Communion in church when they should be turned away. People feel that if the church doesn’t care then they won’t either.
He has a very punchable face!
