Former Sen. Larry Pressler (R-SD), a Vietnam veteran who served in Congress for more than two decades, said Tuesday on Current TV that the movement for marriage equality is much like the movement for racial equality, and confidently declared that the Republican Party is now in the process of making the right to marry “the new conservative position.”

Glad to see the word "former." Equating perverse rights to civil rights is specious reasoning.

Those who support same sex marriage are placing a transient popular culture above protecting the health and safety of the people.

Gay politicians + gay family members + gay staffers + threats of blackmail + general discord and rancor at home and in the office = new conservative position

They are trying to turn marriage into a meaningless joke.

Unfortunately, they have largely succeeded which is why I favor getting government out of the marriage business completely.

Trying to win votes by pandering to 1% off the population that hates you anyway. And disgusting your base in the process.

What a plan.

Pressler was one of the more notoriously dumber members of Congress. He once accidentally opened the door of a closet and went in and stayed there for several minutes before coming out.

Pressler is an idiot (family friend) and not really a conservative. He never has been.
