Comcast pulls local stores’ commercials over gun policy
Washington Examiner ^ | March 27, 2013 | Michal Conger

Comcast is slowly but surely erasing guns from all its advertising, and shop owners in Georgia are the latest to be told their ads will be pulled if they don’t take out all reference to weapons.

Ray Reynolds owns United Loan and Firearms, a pawn shop in Augusta. He told the Augusta Chronicle on Monday he was notified last week that his ads would be pulled from the local Comcast cable station unless he took out all references to guns — including in his shop name.

perhaps Comcast should not show programs that have the “evil devices” in them?

To think that Comcast was started in Mississippi by a WW2 vet.

I am so glad that I didn’t change to Comcast and I was considering it because Verizon is a bit more expensive, but the expense is worth it after hearing about various stories on Comcast lately!

You know things are messed up when a private bakery can’t refuse to make a homosexual wedding cake, but a publicly regulated service provider is allowed to trample on our second amendment.

Evil devices, indeed. Maybe it’s time for a letter writing campaign to make them take all of those block-buster movies off their channels!

Ditch them.

Hook a PC up to your TV and enjoy better programming from the internet.

Great point! Only a law-abiding adult with a clean record would be able to obtain a gun from a shop that advertises on Comcast. But, any number of felons, dangerously mentally ill individuals and children could be influenced to commit acts of violence by viewing guns used in such evil ways in programming carried on Comcast.

Importantly, in most major cities, cable companies run monopolistic businesses, under license from the city government. Therefore, a campaign to the government asking them to take away their monopoly status, or offer it to another company, would be a huge threat to Comcast, costing them a gigantic fortune.

I had the fortune of having Comcrap once. Their customer service rep once told me to call back in a few days if the cable on half my street wasn’t fixed. Only then would they send a truck out.

Comcast can’t even fix my email problems. Forget about gun ads.

What next? Ted Turner banning Jane Fonda’s workout tapes?

Everyone sees the danger. Not only is Comcast influencing the criminals and mentally ill they are advertising for and glorifying the use of gvns via their programming.

Won't somebody think of the Chill'rin!!!???

Time Warner Cable still broadcasts at least two gun related shows that I know of. I think both are on the History Channel.

I have had Comcast for 30+ years. I do not watch a lot of channels but I have never seen an ad for anything connected with guns. My Internet went out Monday and the repairman was out this morning rewiring the outside. He agreed with my daughter that the old wiring was a mess. It had not been updated for decades. I have never had any kind of trouble before.

You like watching movies on a 3-inch screen? Have your eyeballs fallen out yet? :-)
