It seems to have surprised a lot of people that conservative Fox News host Bill O'Reilly doesn't think that arguments in favor of "traditional marriage" are very compelling. But as the following timeline shows, O'Reilly's views on gay marriage have been shifting, in fits and starts, for years now. Bill O'Reilly is America.

October 27, 2004: “I've been saying that all along, that if you open the door for gay marriage, then you have to have the polygamists and the triads and the commune people and everybody else, right?”

April 14, 2005: "We told you this would happen, if gay marriage is legalized, then much chaos would follow.”

June 5, 2006: “Traditionalists like me believe the USA has become strong because of its core values, the freedom, individual responsibility and institutions like traditional marriage, which foster common goals.”

July 10, 2006: “The gay marriage thing to me, I don't understand why it's so important for the secular progressives in this country, the people who want to change America fundamentally and every way, why this is the lead issue. The L.A. Times, New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Boston Globe. These people are going, 'Oh, my God, what are you doing? How can you not see the civil rights aspect of this?

This whole gay marriage thing is a perfect example of the media leading public opinion.

Its an opinion that is as temporary as a house of cards.

I bet you can’t find quotes about homosex marriage before 1995. It was inconceivable before that.

if the foudning fathers had knew this was about being turned on pushing feces then they would have done marriage in the constitution, who knew that the comunists would have been working for so long pushing this agenda and infiltrating the polls, media, the Dem party and are party and quite clever they are.
They the communist tools and trolls use the no Govt involved but really want this sick agenda to advance to ruin America, Christianity and the family.

This goes ahead the lawsuits to adoption agencies, churches, wedding planners, cake makers, teachers who refuse to teach this in school.
There goes the first amendment and the very reason wy America was founded
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

he;s another north east elitist who seems to hate the south and the midwest.
He;s an arrogant SOB who seems to think he;s right on eevrything and refuses to listen to anyone and now his Lincoln book going movie has gone to his head and why anyone watches or listens tot he trud is beyond me

Personally I;d love to get him in the ring

I'm sure the media loves leading public opinion, and have no same about it. The question is: can anyone stop it. The answer, apparently, is no.

My questions is, should we now have a holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.? He was against gay marriage, and apparently that makes a person evil.

Fox is coming around to the Reich way of thinking. Watch for Hannity to cave sooner or later.....oh, sorry, he’ll “evolve”, like he did with amnesty.

More reason to support FR and get news here.

Those who “evolve” on their core principles never had any to begin with. They are too cowardly to stand up and man up in the court of public opinion

0’Reilly is no conservative. It’s hard to read past stupidity of that magnitude.

I think people are missing the point. O’Reilly used to be against it. The point is peer pressure. Major corporations (example: Cisco) will fire people for being against gay marriage, even if they don’t mention it at work. In a few years, being against gay marriage will get you fired and be the equivalent of saying you thought the Nazis were good. How many people will be against gay marriage when that pressure is one them. Bill O’Reilly may be craven, he doesn’t want to lose his career.

I haven’t watched O’Reilly (or anyone for that matter) in years, but he always struck me as somewhat Libertarian in his views.

if he had any balls and guts like he pretends to have then he would stand for marriage and what is right.
A man not ever standing on conviction is not a man in my book and hell it;s not like he has no money

Maybe if people did speak up for once and stop being cowards then we would not have got to where we are, and it;s not too late.

How many freepers even stay silent on this issue, how many never speak up as they should, how many shy away once this issue is raised at their neighbors, work, etc?

Sorry if anyone does then they;re just as miuch to blame for the state of this country as the communist who first pushed this agenda

LOL THE CULTURE WAR, What a joke he is.

How about him standing for what is right, stand on conviction, stand for what marriage is, not like he;s can;t retire on his money is it.

The man hates the south and the midwest, he;s an elitist prick from the north east like so many of his pals are.

He could have shown the freaks on their parades, Folsom fair etc he could report how most boys who are raped are by men and therefore homosexuals

But no he and Hannity are cowards and its because of them the left can get away with their agenda
