Law enforcement officials pushed back hundreds of people who were crowding around a large pile of merchandise outside an Augusta grocery store Tuesday afternoon.

But the goods sitting in the parking lot of the Laney Supermarket didn't make into anyone's hands.

>>Everyone of those folks in the video looked like they were on the verge of starvation / s<<

Just like the folks in line for free Thanksgiving turkeys and dinner stuff last November. Most of them waddled up to pick up their free food!

I am leaving Cali to head to Georgia come May. Enjoy the extra 3.5 cents of gas tax and one of the highest income taxes in the nation. The only hungry savage rioters I have seen are coming across the border from Mexico and they seem to permeate much of southern California.

When students in Morgan Hill carry the Mexican flag and walk up and down the streets chanting La Raza slogans with the approval of the local high school (because it is cinch de mayo) the time is long past to move.

And enjoy that democrat legislature I am sure they will only do good things for a state that at one time was magnificent

be sure and post a few of those nice pictures from Los Angeles or Oakland or San francisco from the last post game celebration or police protest or just a Sunday gathering.

Notice that the police are simply standing with their arms out. In California those few police would have been ht with bottles and rocks and who knows what else.

Nothing makes Holder’s People happier than getting something for free.

Or finding out you’re NOT the baby daddy.

I am laughing all the way to the bank....good luck with budget and the dim legislature

and trust me when I say the riots in California not only always HAVE but always WILL be so much worse than that little gathering that you posted a photo of.

For the record I am neither angry nor upset....I am free at last

This story and video at the WISTV-10.com website just has absolutely every predictable element attached to it:

1. Bankrupt ghetto supermarket shut down and evicted for being deadbeats.

2. Supermarket offered to donate the food to the local church, but the lazy-ass church members never showed.

3. Surging crowd of Free Sh*t Army shows up composed of you guessed it.

4. Almost as many cops show up to keep order.

5. Illegal aliens hired to throw all the food away under police supervision.

6. Outrage at this because 'babies be hongry'.

7. Entitled fat woman declares the incident to be ridiculous.

8. WISTV-10 cub reporter Richard Q. Peckerwood reporting from the scene.

9. Reader comments at WISTV-10 website disabled for this particular story because absolutely EVERYONE knows where that's going to end up.

10. Oy, my aching head after viewing this.

It's like I didn't even need to watch the video. Just give me a certain headline these days and I will tell you the whole story with unerring accuracy.

I've been around for this scenario several times, after fires, and after store closings.
I swear, you toss stuff in the dumpster, no one standing around...second trip to the dumpster...
its full of scroungers.

The first & only time I was present when merchandise was 'offered free for takers'...fights broke out, quickly, and viscious as hell.
NEVER, EVER get between Ø'zero voters and 'Free Stuff'

A story: When a hurricane is coming, our grocery stores are cleaned out in two days and gas is gone from service stations within one day.

On the day Ike was coming that night, I realized I had a kidney infection. I sent husband to the store to get cranberry juice while I was calling my doctor. Left a call for the doc hoping he would call but realized he might have already left his office. I knew I needed Cipro antibiotic.

I figured there wouldn't be any cranberry juice left in the grocery store. Husband got back and said every single juice was gone EXCEPT CRANBERRY JUICE. The shelf was full of cranberry juice and none other. So, if, at the last minute before a hurricane gets to you, if you want juice, you can get cranberry juice.

The doc did call and immediately called the pharmacy at my Walgreens across the street from me. I waited five minutes and called that pharmacy. The pharmacist said he was closing down to go home and get ready for the storm when he got that call and would wait until we got there to get the medicine. Told him we just lived across the street and would be there within a few minutes - he said good and waited.

I didn't have any stored antibiotic then. Now, I have fish Cipro stored. I am allergic to penicillin so that was not a choice. If I had that fish Cipro, I wouldn't have had to call the doctor.

Who knows if you are going to get sick at such a bad time and need an antibiotic and not be able to get it? I lucked out that time, but I will have the Cipro from now on.

And, don't forget, cranberry juice is available when every other juice is gone.

We had a sam’s club which donated their unsold rotisserie chickens to a homeless shelter. Sure enough, one of the homeless claimed they had food poisoning and a class action lawsuit was started. Now neither Sams nor Walmart donate food, they trash it. However, they do donate all the broken bags of pet food and cat litter to the local shelter. Animals can’t sue and the animal control people are happy to get the donations.

I worked in a supermarket during the Oct 11 snow storm in the northeast. Normally in power outages, we could get plenty of dry ice for frozen foods, reefer trailers for the open refrigerated case or large diesel generators to run the refrigeration racks in a extended outage. The natural gas gensets in the store only carried lights, POS, pones, and a few outlets.

With most of CT, MA and RI out we couldn’t get enough dry ice or trailers and the nearest generators (500kW range) ended up coming from the Carolinas about 48-72 hrs after the power went out. We almost had customers fight over melted ice cream that had been sitting in glass door cases with no refrigeration for 72 hrs. Same reaction, the poooooor starving kids, etc.
