BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Pastor Wilfredo Calix-Flores told Action News he has been afraid of returning to work at his small church on Norwich Street in Brunswick ever since he was shot in his arm during a robbery attempt there on March 11th.

Police now say the gunman who demanded a cell phone and wallet from the pastor was the alleged Brunswick baby killer, De'marquis Elkins.

According to the indictment for murder filed Wednesday against Elkins, the 17-year-old shot the pastor in a robbery attempt 10 days before killing baby Antonio Santiago while trying to rob the child's mother.

"We're comfortable now 6 days into it that the location of the incident and the victim were random," said Chief Matt Doering of the Glynn Co. Police Department.

Dominique Lang, 14, is charged with murder along with Elkins.

The 15 count indictment also charges Elkins' mother and aunt with lying to police about his whereabouts.

Police say a nearby salt water pond is where investigators found the alleged murder weapon, a .22 caliber revolver allegedly thrown into the water by the suspect's sister and mother.

Karimah Elkins, the murder suspect's mother, is also being charged with possession of a firearm by a felon. She was convicted of shoplifting in 2008.

Pastor Calix-Flores tells Action News he's now praying De'marquis Elkins and his family seek forgiveness from God.

Still waiting for the racist moron who lives in our White House to call this poor mother to express his condolences. And since it was a couple of his sons, it would be nice if he'd pick up ALL of her funeral expenses and pay for them out of his own pocket.

But, by then, frogs will fly out of my bummer.

But wait, he was an aspiring rapper turning his life around? His granny said he was a good boy.

If this perp had been white and the baby he killed had been black, this perp would already be dead. Being what he is, he will probably get his picture on the front page of Newsweek magazine, three squares a day and access to a Koran and the internet and the weight room at a federal facility of his choice for the next twenty-five years at a cost of a million dollars a year to the U.S. taxpayer. Hey that’s why he did it—”Meal Ticket Man”. It was either that or the military. A no-brainer. Plus now they get conjugal visitations and even sex change operations if that’s what tickles their fancy. The reasons to continue being an upstanding “U.S.citizen” dwindle now on a daily basis. While we wait for the Supremes to trash the citizens of California and the civilized world’s definition of marriage, with their ruling on DOMA. Chile, anyone?

Didn’t the sister go on TV claiming that Elkins was having breakfast at the family home at the time of the shooting of the baby?

She needs to be charged with obstruction of justice, also.

What a family!!!

How many generations of this group have lived off the back of the taxpayers with walfare, Section 8 housing, food stamps, free school lunches???

I’ll bet they have been parasites for all of their miserable lives.

Cops show up at the house of the mother of John Doe.

“We are looking for John.”

Mother responds “John is a good boy! He didn’t commit no murder! He was with me here at the time of the crime at 7 am eating breakfast, he doesn’t even own an Uzi! Oh - and he isn’t here.”

They Cops next go to the house of the aunt of John Doe across town.

“We are looking for John.”

“John didn’t commit no murder! He is turning his life around. He was here with me at the time of the murder, playing video games!”

One Officer says to the other “And here we were going to just pick him up for parole violations! You think maybe we should ask him about that murder that took place at 7 am when he was both at his mother’s and his aunt’s?”

De’marquis
Don’t you just love it . . . they can’t even read, write, or do ‘rithmetic, but they can make up the damned dumbest first names that socially tattoo their kids forever as losers.

When our youngest daughter was born I suggested to my wife that maybe we could name her “Pregnita Brothella”. My wife failed to see the humour in the suggestion.

......the incident and the victim were random.....

No, this was a Black-on-Latino hate crime, as was the attack on the pastor.

As for Gough, the PD who had the rotten luck to be assigned to this case, he thought (or bought is more like it) the family alibi story. Foolish, given the family rap sheet.
