NEWTOWN, Conn.Police investigating the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre here seized a small arsenal of firearms, knives and swords along with medical records and computer equipment from the 20-year-old gunman's home in the days after the shooting, court documents released Thursday reveal.
Also Thursday, the state prosecutor overseeing the case said that Adam Lanza killed 26 people within five minutes of storming into the school before turning a gun on himself.
The documents85 pages of affidavits, search warrants and lists of tems seized from the car and Newtown home Lanza shared with his mother, Nancypaint a chilling picture of the killer who had been stockpiling weapons in the weeks and months leading up to the Dec. 14 massacre.
According to the search warrant, when officers arrived at the school, they discovered Lanza "dressed in military style clothing, wearing a bullet proof vest lying deceased on the floor in the middle classroom." He "was in possession of several handguns as well as a military style assault weapon."
When police arrived at the Lanza home, they found Nancy Lanza "lying in supine position on a bed in the 2nd floor master bedroom" with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Investigators located a rifle "on the floor near the bed."
On Dec. 14, according to a warrant released Thursday, FBI agents interviewed an unidentified resident who described Lanza as a "shut in" and "avid gamer who plays Call of Duty" and rarely leaves the house. The witness said Lanza had a "gun safe containing at least four guns." Lanza attended Sandy Hook Elementary School, the person told the FBI, and "that the school was Adam Lanza's 'life.'"

ABCNews radio just announced - with some bit of glee - that they discovered an NRA “certificate” in his room. Whatever that is.
The media... it’s just embarrassing.
Ah, yes. Let’s do everything we can to drum up emotion again...
Exactly what constitutes an “Arsenal”?
Shredding the Constitution, it’s seventh heaven for the left... what a rush of power!
A usurper communist as president, gun control, homosexual marriage, socialized healthcare, unlimited spending, expansion of government and welfare, debasing of the currency, weakening of military strength, ever increasing restrictions of personal liberties, and on and on and on.
Media code word and any number greater than zero.
I thought the weapons belonged to his mother.
This makes it sound like he bought the guns and ‘stockpiled’ them, himself.
His mother had a tremendous amount of culpability in this. Just looking at his photo, it’s clear he didn’t need to be NEAR weapons and she should have been more responsible.
Go ahead, flame me.
Either it was a very short shotgun or a very wide glove compartment. Of course, the third option is that the AP writers are morons.
The AP story no longer mentions this "fact."
An “arsenal” is a picture of one or more guns, having actual guns is not necessarily a factor in declaring that an “arsenal” has been found. Old partly eaten poptarts that are L shaped also count toward a person having an arsenal. And don’t forget to count all of the 2 inch high plastic toy soldiers one might find.
I want me one of them there "C183 Firearms," too!!
"zero"? zero is not an arsenal, he's an epidemic.
Odd. They didn’t mention any prescriptions.. /s
And they’re withholding the gun serial numbers. Huh?
Correction: “American” media.....its just embarrassing”.
that’s why I don’t watch it anymore. 98% opinion 2% massaged facts with made up statistics.
Why should we believe ANYTHING from Big Media?
Despite heavy help from Bloomberg and the media they are still losing traction on gun control.
So was the “arsenal” his, or his mom’s?
a single mother. video games. a (drugged up?) boy living alone as shutin. all part of the leftist’s culture of death. but they can’t see the horror in their own mirror.
Seems like a bit of false or conflicting information is in this release, or in the journalist’s account of it. The part about the bullet proof vest, for example. Some police sources have said it definitely wasn’t a bullet proof vest, but a “tactical vest” that was just designed to hold ammunition. Also, Lanza didn’t attend Sandy Hook Elementary at all, according to the other reports.
I have been trying to get one of those C183s for years.
Yeah, here is the exact “bullet proof vest” he bought from this same company. Notice the clever opening right in the center that provides extra protection.
This vest is as bullet proof and as dangerous as this fishing vest:
I jumped from a C130 a few times, but never fired one.
I shot a CZ-83 once but I was told it was a mere shadow of the C183 that Lanza had.
Another time I was told a store had one for sale but this is what it looked like.
"C183" does not compute. "CZ-83", perhaps?
Adam wasn't 21 yet, so this could have been funds toward a future purchase.
Battle Tested is a product line of paintball gear.
*Patting self on the back* I emailed the AP to point out that glaring error. Nice to see they actually read the email and corrected the error. Shotgun in glove compartment, sheesh.
Now back to regularly scheduled posting and commenting.
Gun safe in his bedroom.
I guess that makes them his!
Did he have a public education?
What video games did he have?
What drugs was he prescribed?
The antis have been trying to make protective vests “police only” for years, so that point will show up in propaganda.
According to the state police Lanza was lying on the floor dead when they arrived on the scene.
Well how about that. When did the Police.State and local get notified of the incident ? And when did they arrive? To very important questions that are not answered.Though the State police claim they made a quick response.
Another thing where is the unedited video of the crime scene? You have to know that the state police took video from the moment they walked into the school building as well as still photos.
This would clear up the issue of the weapon that was used at the time.
Normally I’m very supportive of the Connecticut State police but lately they have become a highly politicized tool of Governor Malloy and the Democrats in Connecticut and nationwide.
So I want really some unbiased answers.
From what I saw on the warrant, a bolt action Enfield 323, a 22 and a BB gun.
of course they put no blame on the NYSlimes:
“Exhibit #630 - One (1) New York Times article on 02/18/08 of a school shooting at Northern Illinois University.”
“Yeah, here is the exact bullet proof vest he bought from this same company. Notice the clever opening right in the center that provides extra protection.”
The did the same thing with the Aurora shooter. The “bullet proof vest” was a tactical vest for carrying magazines. Idiots.
The media will still portray the C183 camera as an assault weapon capable of firing 500,000 rounds per minute.
Two weeks from now, they may publish a retraction buried about 7 mouse clicks down from the homepage.
On rare occasion I think the writer of a ‘canned’ story (read, writing what they are told to write about) gives a hint that the material is not being endorsed by the writer. Though there are shorty shotties, the sentence regarding a shotgun in the glove box may be just that sort of clue that the AP writer is growing tired of writing what the democrips order him/her to write.
ABCNews radio just announced - with some bit of glee - that they discovered an NRA certificate in his room. Whatever that is.
I wonder if this is just some sort of training certificate given out by an NRA certified instructor?
Wow, people are still falling for this absurd “Sandy Hook hoax” crap? You should be ashamed.
As should you.
NPR today was going all balistic over the nra certificates.
The propagandist over there was trying to imply that a certificate = membership vs certificate reality means “took a class”.
It really was a goebles quality radio. repeating a known lie to create a fake truth.
