MANASSAS, Va. (CBSDC) — A server at Buffalo Wild Wings refused to serve Prince William County police officers because they had their guns displayed.

The Manassas Park Patch reports that the employee wouldn’t serve them despite the plain-clothes officers showing him their badges. The server reportedly told the officers that it was a gun-free establishment.

Scott Lupton, general manager of the Manassas Buffalo Wild Wings, apologized for what happened

They don’t have a no gun sign hanging in the one I’ve been into. On the otherhand, in my state you can’t cc in an establishment that serves alcohol.

HA! You need to eat there more and tip the waitstaff better.

We go there every other Tuesday and are well known by the staff.

As we’re walking to the table our beers are being poured and the Onion Rings and Potato Wedges orders are placed.

All the sauces and celery shows up but are not on the ticket.

Love a good waiter or waitress who work for their tip.

A new BWW opened down the road aways a few months ago. A shooting buddy of mine wanted to go there with me. I filled him in on the company's anti-2a policies and he had no problems with going somewhere else. I know he has passed the word onto others.

What is disappointing is every time I drive by BWW, the parking lot is full.

There's a lot of people that have no idea of the company policy and even more people that think their wings are actually good. (the wings are pretty bad from reports that I have heard).

A company’s policy does not premept state law.

My local BWW is horrible. It always takes 45 minutes to get your wings. It’s Wings!!! 45 minutes?!?!? Come on. And yes, that includes the lunch “rush”.

My wife and I went to a local Buffalo Wild Wings opening two years ago. Now we were both in our mid sixties and the server who couldn’t be a day over 19 wouldn’t serve us a beer until we both showed our ID’s!

When I was waiting tables back in the Dark Ages I always asked the ladies for ID, no matter how old. It got me better tips.

Correct answer but they are allowed to exercise their policies in areas under their control; its just not law. Personally I think officers should be able to carry anywhere anytime while on duty including lunchtime because you never know what may come up. They have received training to use their weapons and it is simply a tool that they use for their job when deadly force might be needed in dangerous situations. It’s just common sense.
