Sasha and Malia Obama 'Learn What They Live' (Extravagances enjoyed without embarrassment)
American Thinker ^ | 03/29/2013 | Jeannie DeAngelis

If it's really true that "children learn what they live," then the First Daughters are learning how to be highbrow aristocrats whose extravagances are enjoyed without embarrassment, in full view and at the expense of the suffering. That's right, "the suffering," because notwithstanding the onslaught of Obamaganda, most people in America today, thanks to Sasha and Malia's Dad, are suffering in one way or another.

Meanwhile, when it comes to showering themselves with the perks of the good life, the Obamas exercise zero restraint. In fact, three months into the second term, they're actually outdoing themselves. Not only that, but the elitist lifestyle the first family lives has a vindictive in-your-face, so-what-if-you-don't-like-it edge to it that smacks of spiteful arrogance. Therefore, Sasha and Malia are learning what their liberal parents teach them, and that is to convey the following message to the unwashed masses: "Do as I say and I'll do what I want, and I'll do it with your money."

And for all of Barack's $900K Florida golf weekends, and more importantly, Michelle's alleged $10 million vacations, haute couture, and overpaid personal staff, the tragic victims of their selfishness and insensitive lack of fiscal restraint are Sasha and Malia.

It's common knowledge that in the Obama household, babies are sometimes considered punishment while abortion is a treasured right. Attending church is a twice-a-year photo op and vacations, since the first of the year, average out to be a once-a-month priority. While Dad and Mom talk the talk about sharing, fairness, and self-sacrifice, in their own lives they exhibit none of these qualities. Consequently, the Obama youngsters are learning through observation that concern over appearing selfish, godless, and hypocritical should be dismissed. Meanwhile, the girls' mother Michelle spends more time than she should proselytizing parents about their children's BMIs, diet,

I would be very surprised if they ever go back to Chicago. Like the Clintons, they’ll head either to N.Y. or Los Angeles in order to hob nob with the elites.

The First Family lives pretty high on the hog, and that’s fair game for criticism. Malia’s trip to Mexico, however, is a different matter. This was a school trip and a routine part of the Sidwell program. The kids were doing a spring break service project. I’m skeptical of how much service work actually gets done by 8th graders, but the real point of course is to give the kids some exposure to a foreign culture and to third world poverty. For children of privilege, I expect this is a useful experience. (This is the primary purpose of the Peace Corps as well, although in the Peace Corps the taxpayers foot the bill; Sidwell families pay their own way.) Many of the Sidwell kids will have vacationed abroad with their families, but that would have given them the perspective of tourist locations and good hotels. Village life is different.

We know a Sidwell girl who was on the trip. There was nothing lavish about it. Malia had a secret service detail, and that accounts for the added expense. I’m told that the security was only for Malia. Since the group spent a lot of time in scattered locations, most of the kids were not close to the security team most of the time. There were school chaperones and local hosts, and the parents were comfortable enough with the security situation, at least in the areas visited.

The Obama family deserves the exact same deference shown the Palin family. Our side did not ring this bell, the left did, and it can’t be unrung.

Your willingness to protect the Obamas is laudable, but it serves the lying Obastard better than it serves the country.

You said it. Such a contrast are the presidents of today when considering the post-presidential life of a person like U.S. Grant. As corrupt has Grant’s administratoin is reputed to have been, in this, too, Grant seems an amateur comprated to the current infestation. I’m guessing nothing so momentous as Grant’s memiors will be produced by this one.

In the best interest of our nation, she should not have gone. Sidewall or crap on a wall, the excess must stop.

If she needed exposure to a foreign culture and poverty she could have gone to any big city in the good old USA.

Too dangerous.

The serious answer is that these kids have fairly extensive service hour requirements and most of this is done at home. Throwing in a foreign trip is an added value opportunity. And going to Mexico isn’t especially expensive.

I certainly didn’t grow up with this, but my old southern Indiana public high school now routinely takes its language clubs abroad. If a very average small town public school can do this, I do not find it strange or objectionable for a place like Sidwell to be doing the same.

The msm got all bent out of shape over the expense of Bush vacationing at his own ranch but they praise these cretins for jet setting around the world with a few dozen of their friends on our dime.

Then explain where the usurper got all the money to afford these lavish vacations. He didn’t have it five years ago when he was barely scraping by to get their student loans paid off.

“Dad (obama) tells them they shouldnt be watching those shows and that ‘if the poor dont have good jobs like I do then they should just eat cake. We live like this because WE DESERVE it. We are smarter than everyone else.’ “

Just how Obama thinks. Just like a third world dictator.

See Liz’s post # 45.

Well, we’d rather concentrate on a school trip to be exposed to third world pvoerty than their trip to a Caribbean resort being chauffeured around in a motorcade and “escorted to the held elevator,” accompanied by “a gaggle of friends.”

Sans parents, Sasha and Malia are vacationing at the Atlantis, home to the Royal Tower Bridge Suite that goes for $25,000 per night. These tender-aged adolescents are accompanied by Secret Service agents who stand on the sidelines as they dance, giggle, and hang out at Club Crush, which for “teens ages 13 to 17 and tweens ages 9 to 13 vacationing on Paradise Island...[is the] ultimate nightclub.

Again, it’s none of our business IF Obama spends HIS money on this. The question is this -— DID HE SPEND HIS MONEY or OUR MONEY?

DID HE SPEND HIS MONEY or OUR MONEY?

I have no insider info, but I'd bet my next SocSec deposit that this is paid for by "friends of Obama".

Not tax money directly, not Baraq's money directly, but via influence peddling.

Hard to say. The Secret Service full time at two universities and the ranch being fully funded at tax payers expense was not necessarily a drop in the bucket.

If the "Jefferson's" expensive lifestyle were limited to those items, I very much doubt we would be reading this article, or indeed if it would have ever been written.
