But is is too convenient that they stock up while trying to disarm citizens. Sure seems like they would be ready in case any push back happens against their plans.

Such condescending assuredness in our government....

And anyone who believes otherwise is an idiot!

Or a liar.

Yes, Hussein cares about each and every one of us, right?

Because he is a Democrat.

WTF has happened to FR?

Actually, they're planning on spending up to $125 million, not $100 million, as indicated in the title.

The FedBizOps solicitation is for a base year, plus 4 option years. The FBI must buy some 9mm ammo this Fiscal Year (which ends September 30, 2013), then has the option of buying $125 million in FY'14, FY'15, FY'16, and FY'17.

From the solicitation: "The Government shall order at least the quantity of supplies or services designated in the Schedule as the “minimum,” hereby established as $100,000.00 over the life of the contract.",

The contract is an IDIQ (indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity), but fixed price.

So to translate, it means the government wants a fixed price per round and will spend between $100,000 and $125,000,000 during the next five years.

Which means we may never see 9mm ammo on the shelves again . . .

He’s just one poster, and not representative of FR as a whole. I think he’s correct about the numbers, but he’s being a jerk about it.

I could understand if it was the calibers that the govt/law enforcement uses, but other than people that put holes in paper, who shoots that many .38spl anymore, or .44 or even any revolvers?

It is also partly to keep ammo out of the hands of regular people. They can’t get gun control through, they will starve the ammo supply. And make what is available that much more expensive.

Why they shouldn’t be up for impeachement and removal for this, shows how complacent we are compared to the Founders. this is a direct assault against the 2nd Amendment rights of all Americans, those who care and those who don’t yet care.

And I am talking about the BILLIONs of rounds ordered the last year, not just this latest large purchase. They are stockpiling to use against us - hollow points are not wasted as target practice rounds - and can’t be used by military, and they are keeping ammo out of citizens’ hands by buying it all up, on our dime with our IOUs.

I’m OK with the FBI buying ammo. The quantity being purchased appears to be sufficient to guarantee them practice rounds of a reasonable quantity.
DHS is a completely different story. These people do not have the professional ethics of the FBI.

There are some countries that send the family the cost of the bullet when their relative is executed. Add al Amerika to that list.

I’m sure that the push for drones and 2700 MRAP purchase for American soil is perfectly normal and customary too eh? Happens all the time, I’m sure. Nothing to see here, move along.

Who is getting the bullet contract?

Remember that story about some fake company (in Arizona?) getting a gov. ammo contract a few weeks ago? Wanna bet there's a lot more fake companies getting these multi-million dollar contracts? Someone's wallet is get very, very fat. Anyone up for another vacation?

That’s what it comes down to, isn’t it?

Either you have a healthy distrust of government and power in general, like the founders did,

or, like a liberal humanist, you inherently trust the “superior” humans that inhabit the halls of power, and their enforcer agents.

> Imagine if on top of that martial law is declared?

That’s what the 3700 armored vehicles and 1.5 billion rounds of ammunition is for.

Someone should check to see if DHS is also showing an increase in the procurement of Body Bags.
