Dr. Ben Carson is an inspiration by every measure. He was born in Detroit Michigan and grew up in the harsh inner city. His mother only had a third grade education but she pushed her son to excel and worked 3 jobs as a single Mom to give him and his brother a leg up even though she could barely read. He credits his Mom, God, and hard work for his success.
He went from being a poor child in an inner city community with poor grades to rise to honors and then go on to medical school and now has risen to be one of the best neurosurgeons in the world and the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins specializing in the separation of conjoined twins.
Now Dr. Carson is under attack. Why is he under attack? He dared to affirm traditional marriage and the belief that though people are free to live how they wish that no one has the right to redefine it.
"Marriage is between a man and a woman," Carson said. "It's a well-established, fundamental pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality -- it doesn't matter what they are, they don't get to change the definition."
A student group, the Health and Human Rights Student Group, is now trying to silence Dr. Carson and have him removed as commencement speaker simply because he affirmed marriage and did not speak highly of homosexuality. He was not vulgar, he was not hateful, he simply expressed an opinion and has even apologized to those that expressed that they were offended though he maintained his clear unwavering support of marriage. Isn't it time for this kind of thing to STOP?
Homosexual activists and their supporters routinely say the most horrid vulgar obscene things about their opponents. They are not polite and their arguments usually devolve in to allegations of bigotry and profanity and then they even get invited to the White House. Gay activist Dan Savage was one of these. Schools like Yale routinely have porn stars and politicians that compare our soldiers to Nazis speaking on their campus but some how a black man who rose from nothing is not acceptable because he spoke his mind and offended some homosexual activists who seem to think them being offended is grounds for making someone a social and professional outcast.

Yes you make a good point and I thought about that too but I figured it is better to play it close to the issue. The fact is the gay rights thought police just can’t have anyone of prominence that they just can’t dismiss as a religious uneducated nut saying what Dr. Carson said. That is what the chronic bullying is about because the intimidation is what wins the day not their arguments. Its much easier to convince good people that the cost is too high to speak up than to spend time truly debating them.

Yes they do have that confusion but unfortunately many heterosexuals have that confusion too. I had a co-worker once confess he had during a drunken moment of weakness with a women he’d met at the bar the night before and he wanted my opinion on whether anal sex was cheating. We are living in a country where we have a “Ministry of Justice” (Wash.DC.)-—where “up is down”-—that is what the elite/power is telling us and if we who are educated question their lack of Reason....we will be targeted because that is what Marxist’s do-—they have to keep Truth out.
You have that right and “the truth” is the antiseptic for the things we stand against and they would have us all silent whether it be while unborn children are butchered, while sexual amorality leaves children in broken homes with broken futures and feeds government dependence, while those that build businesses and grow the economy find the fruits of their efforts stolen from them. The biggest weapon they have is our fear of what they might say about us when we stand against the darkness. I have gotten to the point that I don’t care. Faith means to me no fear of man.
With that; we can certainly feel/see; a communist/Marxist/Alynsky et al crafted MO cranking up; so as to bring down, Dr. Carson. So hope; as surgeon and healer; that the light, now shared by Dr. Carson, empowers him to heal/defeat the ignorance that infects those who carry the virus of Leftist dogma.
Meantime; am wondering just how 'warm the welcome' is; from our Repub-Elites (so called). Could be wrong; but am betting they are not at all comfortable seeing him garner such attention while he makes his rounds; not in hospital; but where a media audience can - and are - taking note of this man, who fearlessly; calmly; unobtrusively - all to say - humbly; speaks the truth. Even better; Dr. Carson, as well; speaks in typical humble fashion; truth to power. . .
I totally agree but I see this as a big opportunity to change the game. Dr. Carson didn’t have to speak out. He didn’t have to expose himself to the heat. I don’t care what the GOP political class thinks. I’m not one of them and I’ve never been one of them. What I care about is stopping this thought police tactic once and for all and the only way that is going to happen is to push back hard every time this kind of thing rears its head and use examples like Dr. Carson and Dr. Angela McCaskill and others to prove our most powerful point against SSM marriage which is that our very personal liberty and freedom of speech to even hold and express a traditional view of normalcy and marriage is threatened.
Every conservative media host worth his weight should be on top of this story and others as a clear example of what we can expect with gay marriage and increased gay political correctness.

I hit their facebook page yesterday. At that time, the petition only had 22 ‘likes’ and many many comments in the negative. Heck, the entire page only had 124 followers. Not a whole lot of activity on it overall over the last year...I bet that will change. ;-)
Keep in mind that JHU wouldn’t allow a pro-life student union to form...said they couldn’t do ‘sidewalk education’, whatever that means. They are re-applying.
Even our esteemed medical schools have been infested...we have to take the fight to their front door.

Dr Carson’s message will be heard by more because he was not allowed to give the speech than if it was given. This thread and the similar conversation across the nation will have a larger impact than a speech that falls on a few unhearing ears.
Ben Carson’s speech at the University of Michigan was about whether Doctors should speak on things other than medicine.
