I've heard local tv news segments begin "Easter, with its focus on rebirth . . . ." and "Easter, with its message of renewal . . . ."
The latter is not so bad (close but no cigar) but the former is abominable. I suspect the plan is to change the meaning of Easter in the minds of the unchurched.

I find the story about the Alabama Elementary school Principal banning he word “Easter” to be particularly distressing. That Principal contracted a rare condition that forced the Doctors to put her into a medically induced coma for months, and before she went under she pleaded with Jesus and God to pull her through.
When they did, she went back to work and denied them both to little children. And people don’t believe Satan works on us.

Easter is about the Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ Look, I know what you're trying to get across here (BOR - not so sure). I'm saying if one intends to fight something, it's best to know what you're fighting for. And that ain't for some stupid Pagan fertility goddess ritual called Easter.
How 'bout we teach our children and ourselves, in the process, the truth?
