can’t stand Madonna, but I’ve also seen first hand what some alcoholics can do.

Had a relationship with one that was a test study for alcoholism.

And I mean that literally. Come to find out, a researcher from IU had been studying her alcohlism and her family for years.

Drank herself to the point of renal failure, and kept drinking vodka and skipping dialysis.

That was the final straw for me

It’s got nothing to do with being a fan of Madonna and everything to do with being related to losers. Count yourself blessed you don’t understand her position.

I once asked a homeless drug addict what he would do if he suddenly came into a million dollars. And he said, “I would kill myself. Because I would buy dope, and dope, and some more dope....”

I doubt there are any Madonna fans here.

But the reasons people dislike her are for her own actions.
Goodness knows there are plenty.

No need to make up strawmen to attack her, for those things beyond her personal controll. If your family is large enough, it also includes a homeless addict who refuses to be helped.

Sometimes the best and only right thing you can do is to stop enabling a dysfunctional family member.

Now, back to freely and openly bashing her for her toxic music and idiotic politics!

I enjoy a lot of her early music, and saw her at Live Aid in '85 when she was at the top of her game. Also, 'Desperately Seeking Susan' is one of my favorite movies. I watch it once every couple of years.

That’s how you sell your soul real cheap. Also known as sucking the devil’s d*ck for free.

See #31. Two years ago there wasn’t such an outpouring of support on FR for Madonna against her brother. Change has come.

Your right. That selfish woman ought to give him a stack of signed checks and the keys to her car.

That sounds awful! You would think that the streets would thaw out in the Summer.

I grew up listening to Madonna’s music. Her song “Live To Tell” still gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it. There are a lot of esoteric clues in the lyrics of that song, if you listen closely and pay attention.

His last name is Ciccone. He’s all grown up.

Many addicts blame the results of their bad decisions on their more successful relatives.

You can’t help an addict until they take personal responsibility.

He's 56? He looks older than I am (67), same white beard too. Click my screen name for a comparison. I'm a recovering alky myself - coming up on 32 years of sobriety though.

Change duly noted. As are the explanations, all what is usually called “received wisdom”.
