I use Hoppe’s as after-shave, too.

It is an original AR=180 Stirling. I bought it for cash $400.00 in the box from a friend in the very early 1980’s. Nice!

If you missed out on getting an AR, this might be a good way to get started. Stripped Lower

Lucky you. I have the newer B model. It doesn’t get nearly as dirty or seem to need as much lube as my regular AR.

I may have to get one of those for my AR57 upper. How much does it cost to get the rest of the lower parts?

This rates high on my gun care list..... Right up there with Sweets, Kroil, Hoppes #9, Militec and Marvel Mystery Oil ...... Rusteprufe ! One purchase will last a lifetime. Carried this around the world with me while in the military, arctic, jungle, desert and coastal environments..... Developed in 1938 !

Texan Tested.... Good Shit !

You should be able to get a lower parts kit for about $100 or less (last time I checked). I think I paid around $80 for mine. That includes everything but the stock, buffer tube and buffer/spring. I just saw some Magpul stocks in Gander Mtn. last week but didn’t check the price.

That’s a great price. The jerk I bought the upper from wanted $700 for a complete lower.

I’m not sure if you need the buffer and spring with the AR57 or not. You may just need the tube, if you buy the stock without it.

It came with the buffer and it fits on a regular AR spring. So one less part.
