GOP licking chops at gov’s poll slide (NY's Cuomo nosedives)
NY POST ^ | 4/1/13 | ERIK KRISS, NYP Bureau Chief with S.A. Miller

Posted on 04/01/2013 7:43:38 AM PDT by Liz

NY Gov Andy Cuomo’s once stratospheric approval ratings have hit a slide — the gun-control law Cuomo pushed through the Legislature in January following the Newtown massacre helped drive the Democrat’s job approval ratings from 74 percent last December to 55 percent last month in Quinnipiac polls......he was losing in the New York suburbs and upstate to GOP Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey in a hypothetical presidential run.

The GOP believes Cuomo's politically exploitable missteps, include:

* Delaying on the natural-gas drilling technique known as fracking, which has divided the state.

* Obtaining luxury seats for himself and top aides at the Buffalo Bills’ stadium in a deal to keep the state’s only NFL team from leaving.

* Cutting aid for the developmentally disabled and planning an election-year tax rebate for families while other taxes and fees increase.

Yeah, the GOP, (a.k.a. the right wing of the Democrat party), can’t wait to get into power so they can abuse their power just like the left wing of the Democrat party.

Even if his “poll numbers” go down to 20, they will still vote for him.

It will be an amazing thing to see Mr. Cuomo win because he is a Progressive.

(The press has done a wonderful job of creating the impression that anyone who is not a Progressive is an idiot.)

IMHO

Look...there is NOOOOOOO chance that the Republicans will win the governorship of New York...none, zero, zip...even if they nominated a 300 pound liberal (wait...that’s NJ).

No chance whatsoever.

Oh, great. A presidential run of Andy Cuomo vs. Chris Christie. And the scary thing is that it might just happen.

Or maybe they’ll give us Hillary Clinton vs. Jeb Bush.

These are the times that try men’s souls.

Cuomo ran as a pro business moderate and fiscal conservative who stood up to the unions to get a balanced budget. He behaved like one until the last state of the state address where he outed himself as a hard core leftist, screaming like Il Duce from the podium and ramming through a very harsh gun law without debate. That woke up alot of people.

I don’t think it will matter if they throw the bum out - the laws the Democrats enacted will stay in place. The liberals look on these pols as expendables: “Look, enact this law to advance our agenda. If the voters oust you, we’ll find you another slot somewhere in government. Just follow the party line and we’ll take care of you.”

Mark Steyn nailed it when he said the Republicans were like the European Conservatives - whenever they got into power, they never rescinded any Socialist law, just claimed they could make it work better.

Why? NY doesn’t have any Republicans who can win statewide office. Blame Al D’Amato and his puppet George Pataki for that, mostly the latter. Pataki knew he was an empty suit so he never groomed any successors because they would’ve outshined him immediately. Dude actually thought he could run for president.

The last time a Republican was elected governor of New York was 2002 ( George Pataki ).

I don’t see that happening again no matter how bad a Democrat like Andrew Cuomo is doing in office.

And even if a “Republican” (note the quotes ) were to be elected, he is most likely going to be pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage and for more regulations (in other words, a RINO ).

That’s how much of a lost cause the state of NY has become.

Cuomo and his commie mafia hid in the weeds until after the Nov. election then all hell started breaking loose in NY.

He is going after us from so many directions it is difficult to stay focused on any one assault.

Between him, his mafia, Sheldon Silver-tounge and bloombottom they are doing a great hatchet job on the state.
