Mexican Cartels Getting Strong and Violent Foothold in the United States
Town Hall ^ | Apr. 1, 2013 | Katie Pavlich

The Associated Press is out with an extensive piece today showing just how far Mexican drug cartels have infiltrated American society. The cartel problem is no longer a border problem, it's a problem for the entire country. Violent cartel members are carrying out crimes in our backyards with the potential to develop into something much worse.

Mexican drug cartels whose operatives once rarely ventured beyond the U.S. border are dispatching some of their most trusted agents to live and work deep inside the United States — an emboldened presence that experts believe is meant to tighten their grip on the world's most lucrative narcotics market and maximize profits.

If left unchecked, authorities say, the cartels' move into the American interior could render the syndicates harder than ever to dislodge and pave the way for them to expand into other criminal enterprises such as prostitution, kidnapping-and-extortion rackets and money laundering.

But a wide-ranging Associated Press review of federal court cases and government drug-enforcement data, plus interviews with many top law enforcement officials, indicate the groups have begun deploying agents from their inner circles to the U.S. Cartel operatives are suspected of running drug-distribution networks in at least nine non-border states, often in middle-class suburbs in the Midwest, South and Northeast.

"It's probably the most serious threat the United States has faced from organized crime," said Jack Riley, head of the Drug Enforcement Administration's Chicago office.

They will not even mention the word cartel down here. I think law enforcement knows this is the cartel setting up shop in the market.

Don't worry. Homeland Insecurity and the Just Us Department has assessed the situation and will be responding to this threat by targeting dangerous groups like Christians, home schoolers and Conservative Americans.

John McCain approves of this message.

Thank God it’s only people who want jobs that we won’t do coming over the border.

Oh....but let’s not focus on Mexican drug cartels, who are killing innocent civilians as we speak, and who will no doubt kill hundreds (thousands?) more...since they are not only not being stopped ....they’re being aided by the Obama administration.

Let’s focus, instead, on the Aryan Nation prison drug gang....who is ‘assumed’ to have killed two people recently. Much more important news, dontcha know!

"When these cartels start to think they can begin offing American judges and mayors, congressmen etc like they do south of the border, is when we’ll finally get politicians serious about border control getting in on their share of the action.

Fixed it for ya'.

When these cartels start to think they can begin offing American judges and mayors, congressmen etc like they do south of the border, is when we’ll finally get politicians serious about border control. When the thug Coulter they allow to pour over are borders starts to infringe on their lily white perfect expensive lives, then something will be done to control it.

You are absolutly correct. Pols like Rohm Emmanuel will demand a piece of the action.

So, when a Mexican Drug Cartel sends their 51st hit-man into Texas, will they be forced to provide medical insurance under Obamacare?

Bootleggers during Prohibition were violent also.

Now with alcohol legal, we don’t have that problem.

Thanks, War on Drugs, for hyperinflating drug profits and channeling those profits into criminal hands so they can wage war on U.S. soil!

Us Alinsky against them.

For starters, I`ve been to Texas and know that there are Conservative die-hard Texans who are also Hispanic. You recruit them to act as spoke persons.

Then you make it a "for the children" issue with stories of the horrific brutality going on in Mexico- pick a month and search the news releases from the turd world country.

Then gather all the photos of the murder scenes and the funerals you can get, if you belong to a big Tea-Party organization, you may even try getting a volunteer for a fact finding mission to some of the still uncorrupted sources in Mexico, scary mission but at least its a possible site seeing trip.

Then find good conservative politicians to act as front men while you organize marches and mail campaigns to the other pollut-icians and their boot licking press-titute lackeys.

Once and if (god willing) it begins to roll you go to guys like Glenn Beck, who lives in Texas now, and Rush, Drudge, Hannity, Quin and Rose, Mark Levin, in short you play it as big as you can but from the angle of "its a security issue for the children".

And while you`re at it, don`t stop gathering data on the narco atrocities, keep playing up the stories and pictures of the true situation down there."We need a secured border!" is or should be the cry, remember, Its for the children!, oh and with those animals down there, you tell them they can kiss your conservative ass if they think you`ll be disarmed, you need to protect your children.

That is sort of odd the way she jumps from the AP article to the Briebart article about the Aryan Nation.

Her representation of the AP article is not very accurate, plus she changed the article title.

There is a link in #18 to the actual article which is very informative.

The AP article points that there very ltttle violence associated with the cartel members in the US. They do point out the stats in Texas but mostly that is because many, many cartel members actually live in Texas.

With the murders of the Kaufmann County DA and his wife, and another attorney in hi soffice earlier this year...

The methods (results) of killing using multiple rounds in those murders, is indicative of the style used south of the border in killings of similar people in their legal system..

But, we have assurances from Janet Nepalitano that our borders are as secure as she has ever seen them and that there is NO spillover violence to speak of to this day...

Do I need to??? Ohhhh, ok... /sarc

In addition to the cutting of the BP and their core operational budgets in ALL sectors, it is apparent that the border is being abandoned by the Federal government...

Time for the states to step up and take over...The states need to handle ALL enforcement, arrests, detainment, hearings, and most important a fast track to deportation of non-violent illegal immigrants...Those that are cought doing additional illegalities, should be imprisoned, and when those terms are complete, immediate deportation back to their country of origin...

And when the Feds decide to come back into the game, we deny them that forever...no exceptions...

The states can deduct the money (revenue) we send to D.C. and apply that to their prospective states fund for border enforcement...

As soon as the system is in place then we can form a consortium between the border states, CA, AZ, NM and TX...the northern states can do their thing up there if they feel like it...Thats up to them...

Once we take it, we never relinquish the duties back to the Feds...

And iof they complain, well, theres a pile of sand over there they can go pound on for all I care...

Just my opinion...

Sometime maybe you can explain to me the difference between a RINO and a Democrat.

I’m hoping that “both” have redeeming qualities, but I haven’t found many yet - - - .

Bootleggers were normally US grown. The cartels are foreign grown illegals for the most part. A little thing like changing US law won’t tame them. They will continue to ignore those laws just like they do every other law.

As long as these drug-addled, selfish wastrels continue to push for supply, there will be vicious, murderous thugs willing to accommodate them.

So you don’t think that legal demand would create a legal supply base?

Well, then that settles it.

In the future I'll be buying all my drugs exclusively from the MEXICAN cartel. /s

You always want to do business with numero uno.
