On Monday’s Hardball, he actually said, “Racism is the belief that one race - whites - should rule all others”

The Democrats used to have the one-drop rule, you had to be 100 percent white to be white. (Hitler had the same rule to distinguish German from Jew.)

Today it’s more of an association. Haley Berry, 1/4 black, is black because she associates with the black community. Condi Rice, all black, is non-authentic, hence not black, hence white, because she associates with the larger community. Ditto Barack Obama, 1/2 black, versus Allen West or Tim Scott.

Colin Powell used to be non-authentic, but he came around and supported the interloper rather than a fellow vet, showing that pigmentation is the most important thing about a person. He’s back to black.
