U.S. on alert for nuclear blast overhead
WND ^ | 4/1/13 | F. Michael Maloof

WASHINGTON – U.S. officials quietly are expressing concern that North Korea could use its “space launch vehicle” to explode a high-altitude nuclear device over the United States, creating an electromagnetic pulse that would destroy major portions of the U.S. electrical grid system as well as the nation’s critical infrastructures.

The concern is so great that U.S. officials who watch North Korea closely are continually monitoring the status of the North Korean “space launch vehicle,” whose status could suggest a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the United States.

They are aware of the three-stage missile North Korea launched last December that also orbited a “package,” which experts say could be a test to orbit a nuclear weapon that then would be deorbited on command anywhere over the U.S. and exploded at a high altitude, creating an EMP effect.

I heard it’s supposed to happen right after Iran suffers a major nuclear accident in their underground enrichment facilities.

EMP is a credible threat, and if WND wants to raise awareness of this threat; good for them. Do note that the ‘article’ appears to be a thinly-veiled advertisement for a book, however. Last time I checked, WND is a business, and is welcome to try to get as many ‘hits’ as they possibly can.

That was act 2 of the first attempt.

IMO, the won is the big finale.

The freeloaders can kiss their ObamaFoams goodbye. EMP-America is finished.

ObamaFoam? Is that a new kind of post-coital prophylactic the administration's handing out?

True of any advertising supported website. Some are more prone to hit the hotbutton than others but they'll all do it.

Dear Pastor Brooks,

I feel your pain, but believe your complaint is reflective of a much, much larger issue.

... the constant, incessant, panic-driven, Search-Engine-Optimized headlines coming out of...

the media. There isn't a day that goes by lately that even Rush Limbaugh gets turned off at times for plying the propaganda of the regime. I believe many Americans are like you and to a degree like me, we are tired of hearing about the latest catastrophic politcal headline daily.

The news overall has become a stuck pig squeelfest.

Is this for real? I thought the space launch was a failure.

“EMP is a credible threat, and if WND wants to raise awareness of this threat; good for them.”

You are right, and I am glad for whatever coverage the threat gets. I didn’t mean to get off the topic and move the conversation over to WND.

Some days it drives me nuts to see articles linked to flat-out communist propaganda organs like MSNBC and Politico... :-)

Back in the good old days, an EMP attack on the US would be suicidal for the country doing it, and even pissant countries like NK would never dare to do so.

Now, with the current regime, I have my doubts.

Oh, man... you got me there. WND is a breath of fresh air compared to those.

Okay, I’ll withdraw my request for the moment. Thank you for the insight.

Most days it drives me nuts to see valid important news coming from UK sources.

That says a lot about the MSM.
