Former Weather Underground radical Kathy Boudin, who served 22 years in prison for her role in an armored-car robbery that left three dead in 1981, now has an adjunct professorship at Columbia University’s School of Social Work, the New York Post reports:

Boudin’s status of perp-turned-prof outraged the widow of one of her victims, Brinks guard and dad of three Peter Paige, who was gunned down by her accomplices from the Black Liberation Army on Oct. 20, 1981, in Rockland County.

Boudin acted as a getaway driver in the heist.

“She doesn’t deserve a job at all,” said Josephine Paige, 74, when told of Boudin’s posts. “She doesn’t deserve anything, nothing at all. I think she should be back in an institution.”

Boudin, 69, this year was also named the Sheinberg Scholar-in-Residence at New York University Law School, where she gave a March lecture on “the politics of parole and re-entry.”

After Boudin went to prison, her son, Chesa Boudin, was adopted by former Weathermen Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohm. Ayers came to national prominence during the 2008 presidential campaign for his association with then-candidate Barack Obama.

Kathy Boudin attended kindergarten at the Little Red School House and its high school, the Elisabeth Irwin High School in Manhattan. Although she went to Bryn Mawr College intending to prepare for medical school, her interests quickly turned to politics. Her last year at Bryn Mawr was spent studying in the Soviet Union. In 1965, she studied for a year in the Soviet Union, was paid 75 rubles a month by the Soviet government and, according to her résumé, taught on a Soviet collective farm. Kathy Boudin also attended receptions and functions with her parents at the Cuban Mission to the United Nations in New York. She also attended Case Western Reserve University School of Law for one year.

That explains how Obama got into Columbia. Ayers is the connection.

The “Wayback machine” has archived this old Boudin website. It chronicles her academic background. The website was set up in an attempt to facilitate her parole.

Good point. It could even be Boudin herself. She comes from a very influential family of leftists.

The light at the end of the tunnel just keeps getting a little further away. Hopelessness is a dangerous thing.

Gosh...thanks. She is educated and it seems, scholarly. What a tragedy! Even though she has requisite degrees...it still turns my stomach that someone who feels that non-violent protest is simply not enough is out there influencing students.
