If he only had the affair, I would say good for him. However, when you go AWOL for days without any notice or even a successor than you should be a cooked goose. I hope he loses because he will be the laughing stock for Republicans and we can get the seat back in November with a Real Conservative Republican especially for South Carolina.
I couldn't agree more.
I am spectacularly uninterested in the marital fidelity of politicians. But a sitting governor who voluntarily disappears for days on end has abdicated his office and betrayed the public trust.
He has no business going anywhere near elected office, and I hope he's rejected in a landslide.
That the GOP has already given him a pass for inexcusable behavior is bad enough, but I hope the voters have slightly higher standards.

Rove must know more than we had hoped for about the inept Republican primary voters of SC. It’s all based on name ID in SC, which explains Thurmond for so many decades; the other candidate was unknown.
