Sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help to find two children taken from their grandmother's home Wednesday morning.
Authorities say Joshua Hakken came into Patricia Hauser's home, on the 14000 block of Shady Shores Drive, tied her up and took her two grandchildren. Hakken fled the home in Hauser's 2009 silver Toyota Camry.
Authorities are looking for the children, 2-year old Chase and 4-year old Cole Hakken, who could possibly be in a black 2006 GMC pickup with Florida tag BHNV-86 registered to Joshua Hakken. Deputies believe Sharyn Hakken may be with them as well.
Chase Hakken is 3 feet tall, weighs 33 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing pajamas. Cole Hakken is 3 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 44 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. He was also last seen wearing pajamas.
Both subjects are considered armed and dangerous and according to authorities, are anti-government and have attempted a previous abduction at gun point in Louisiana. Anyone with any information is asked to call 911 or to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200.
Maybe it will help find them, like hint towards the kind of people that may be helping them and the kind of place where they may be.
But it’s so out of place in this article. It’s like an after thought in the last paragraph. Why is it relevant?
Are they saying they “took” their own children?
I would want to know more.
More questions than answers in the article - Why were the children in their grandmother’s custody? Why did the children’s parents not have custody? Could that have anything to do with their being “anti-government”? Are the children endangered?
Without any more info. I would guess they kidnapped their own children after the government placed them in Grandmothers care. This won’t end well.
Because we are well into 1984, and it is Orwellian.
Or perhaps Liberals don’t really care about kids, but anti-government, now THOSE guys got to be caught!
Pretty sick world when Parents can kidnap their own kids.
Local news is very sparse on details as well. I’m just concerned as to the motive for saying that they’re anti-government. Nothing I’ve heard from any of the Tampa Bay area news outlets indicates that this is relevant.
It helps with the description of their potential behavior, doesn’t it? It wasn’t at the end of the article, where else in the article should it be placed?
Like I said, it strikes me as out of place in the article. There’s no elucidation as to the reason for mentioning it. It’s just there. It’s mentioned just once. No description of their ties to anti-government groups. No mention of them being survivalists. No explanation as to the ties between being anti-government and attempting to kidnap a child in Louisiana.
I understand getting information out to the public, but this almost seems distracting more than helpful.
“Anti-Government” is the new ThoughtCrime.
Is this a stranger abduction, or a run of the mill family disturbance matter?
Well put. I think that’s kinda what concerned me. This is a local media outlet to me, and this sort of rhetoric freaks me out a little bit. I definitely want more information as to their “anti-government” background and what it entails. If it means they sent some politics-heavy emails to representatives or spoke to neighbors about how much they hate Obama, I’ve got some news for the media: they’re surrounded by us.
Family disturbance. Apparently they lost custody of the children for some reason, so this “abduction” is more against the will of the government. The grandparents are not commenting.
The ‘missing perps’ sound like the parents.
With my knowledge of DCF and govt, I would harbor these folks if I saw them. I want to learn more, but don’t expect the truth on the news at all.
I have to wonder what the reasoning is behind their children being taken away, kids have been ripped away from their parents for simple BS like feeding them the wrong non-government approved food and even... GASP... Spanking....
“Both subjects are considered armed and dangerous and according to authorities”
Probably just a CCW holder or purchased a gun once. Maybe the grandmother said he touched a gun once in his life.
Gotta put down these white anti-govt types, at all cost.
