'Insane' crowds as customers flood Connecticut gun stores before vote
NBC ^ | 04/03/2013 | Matthew DeLuca and Sofia Perpetua

Posted on 04/03/2013 1:26:09 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

Gun stores all over Connecticut were packed Tuesday, one day before lawmakers were expected to vote on a sweeping package of laws that would ban military-style assault weapons and magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

“They’re insane. I’ve never seen them so busy before,” shopper Shari Reilly, who bought up several high-capacity magazines, told NBC Connecticut.

Gov. Dannel P. Molloy, a Democrat, has said he will sign what could be “the toughest law passed anywhere in the country" -- if it gets through the legislature. Connecticut would become the latest of a handful of states – following Colorado and New York – to enact strict new gun-control legislation after the mass shootings in an Aurora, Colo., movie theater and Newtown, Conn., shool. President Obama was scheduled to speak in Colorado on Wednesday to push new federal laws.

Gun manufacturers, ammunition makers and gun store owners in Connecticut have said their businesses will be threatened if a stringent new gun control bill becomes law.

“I feel like we have one foot being pushed out the door,” Mark Malkowski, the owner of AR-15 manufacturer Stag Arms, told NBC Connecticut. He said his company has received nearly two dozen incentive-laden offers to move out of the state.

“They’re really good offers,” Malkowski said. “They are offering tax abatements, they’re offering to build you a factory.”

Thank you sir. I was honestly surprised to see the number of gun manufacturers in CT & NY.

I knew there were several, but the two lists are long. (some overlap)

Maybe next time they’ll “flood” the voting booths.

Some cops aren’t stupid liberals. They know that in a time of real trouble, they may not be able to get to their stationhouse to get their weapons, body armor, ammo, etc.

They buy their own or take some home at night, just in case this situation happens.

They would become a criminal under the Connecticut, Colorado and New York laws if they had 30 round capacity magazines, certain “assault rifles”, etc.

It is time that the police told their state government to go to hell or they will resign en masse. Then who are you going to call at 911, “Ghostbusters”?

To #9: How about the decent people of Connecticut taking NEW HAVEN back from the communists and marxists who now run it?

Seems that Rep. De Rosa (D-WITCH), is in bed with Joelle Fishman, the Communist Party USA leader in New Haven. Don’t believe me, check out the database site www.keywiki.org - search for Connecticut, Rep. De Rosa, Joelle Fishman, Communist Party of Connecticut, and you’ll see some very interesting photos and documents.

New Haven is part of the Red Triangle that goes all the way to Boston and Cambridge, Mass. As in Vietnam, it is time that it was cleaned up and out.

They USED to be Conservative-friendly states, in the 50s & early-60s, but the influx, takeover and pollution of libs and dems have destroyed them both, since.

When you throw in accessory, parts, and related tool makers there are dozens more. It is, after all, the old industrial northeast.

Yes, old industries have secondary suppliers that they depend on. I could see how that is.

But, can the firearms companies continue to take the punishment. I saw this happen in the Chicago Area. It was the center for hardware manufacturing for 100+ years. China killed the manufacturing and the cost of doing business killed the distribution and the cost of office presence forced the industry out. Now it is dispersed.

Banking/Finance/Brokerage in the NE is facing the same thing. The NY Stock Exchange was purchased by a company in Atlanta, if I understood correctly. It that the beginning of the slide for that industry?

Guess we shall see.

...am I supposed to feel sorry for these people?

Guys like me have been WARNING about this type of crap for years.

And guys like me have been lectured by the holier than thou know-it-alls who make up most of the “moderate” population in places like CT.

If I was a liberal Democrat in Ct, I’d be wiping my butt with the little people too.

Who’s going to stop them?

No, you might burn yourself inadvertently. Just get in an 18 wheeler, put in a mouth guard and play bumper cars. You go running up there with a flaming bottle and they’ll shoot you with their “law enforcement only” 30 round mag....

I think one problem may be that these politicians are a bunch of alchoholic drug addicts who cant think straight.

that has to be the only explanation

They drug test everybody from the Mcdonalds burger flipper to the truck driver, maybe they should start screening these ignorant morons in government, at least make them pass a qualifications exam and certification process , like all the rest of us who hold important positions

“Liberalism is insanity.”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Yes, it is, insanity in the legal sense, the inability to distinguish right from wrong and to conform one’s behavior accordingly. Liberals imagine themselves to be the only incorruptible monitors of right and proper action but in reality they promote evil in many and varied ways. They preach “tolerance” while steadfastly refusing to tolerate any opinion in opposition to their own. They preach nonviolence while calling for the murder of others who only ask for the right to self defense guaranteed in the constitution. I say YES, they meet the textbook definition of insane!
