Rick Santorum appears to be eyeing the White House again, with the former Pennsylvania senator telling Newsmax TV’s Steve Malzberg that he may run for president in 2016.

“I’m certainly leaving the door open for that,” Santorum revealed on “The Steve Malzberg Show” Wednesday afternoon. …

“The same advisors who botched these last two campaigns are now saying, ‘Well, you know, since we can’t win with moderate Republicans, we have to now try to be liberal Republicans to win instead of standing up for the values that made our country great,’” he said. …

Seems like we need a good looking nominee. How’d that Romney fella work out.

I can proudly stand behind his public positions, but there’s no way in hell this guy should ever be the GOP nominee. He’s symptomatic of everything that is wrong with the American political scene these days. He’s a lifetime political hack who has spent his entire career at the public trough and in Beltway “think tanks,” and doesn’t have a clue about what it means to work for an honest living.

Right, he split the conservative base by earning the most states and votes among conservatives.

I see how that works.

Actually it would be Sir Newt who split the conservative base from Santorum costing him three crucial states in our war against Romney and thus ensuring Obama’s re-election.

As some Freepers warned more than a year ago.

Great idea Rick, lets reproduce the 2012 formula.

Two ‘candidates’ who were just play running to get TV time

A little known house member with zero chance of being noticed

Rick, a Senator who lost his re-election (last elected job), then ran in 2012 primary and lost again

Another play act candidate with zero experience and a closet full of angry wimmin from his past waiting to come out who have copies of checks he wrote to them (thanks Herman)

A ex-House Speaker who resigned in disgrace (too many problems to list) > 10 years ago and whose career is opinion TV since then, whose positions have been all over the map

And of course the winner Mr super billionaire 47% Mormon who was a single term gov of the most libs state who flipped every position to win the primary then avoided all those issues in the general (best he could).

...not too bright...

This is exactly how Santorum strikes me, too. I don't think he's capable of playing in the big leagues.

Among the issues brought up by candidates in the 2012 race

Santorum is the only candidate who raised the issue of the high cost and the value of a college degree for jobs that don’t really require such...got shot down..by RINOS, GOPES, and Demo-coms..and of course the “Education Industry”

Santorum was the only candidate whon raised the issue of population control ...got shot down...While everybody worries the our population is not reproducing and has to depend on Mexico for a cheap labor source...That issue every RINO..GOPE...and pundit including many FR’s too stupid bought into nor looked beyond what the socialist front for the regime MSM was selling .

If he does decide to run he better have a better organization than what he had last time

AND HERE IS THE THEME I URGE HIM TAKE AND USE IN HIS EFFORT

IT’S TIME TO GET THIS GOVERNMENT
OUT OF OUR FACES AND OUR POCKETBOOKS

Want to make a difference ? You won’t do it preaching here Start your own vocal group Be your own precinct captain The piece below is designed to be printed up and passed around your precinct and your friends and neighbors as a (index sized) palmcard. On the face (REVERSE SIDE)or below the slogan you can put the name of the candidate you favor and the election dates...EXCELLENT FOR SLIPPING UNDER WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON CARS PARKED IN KEY PARKING LOTS CHURCHES, RALLY SITES....

DEMO-COMS AND RINO CRYERS
GOD DENIERS AND PREDACIOUS LIARS
ARE REDISTRIBUTE WEALTH INCITERS/
FIRST YOUR MONEY THEN YOUR GUNS
ISSUING DECREES OF MANY COME
DEMAND SURRENDERING CHOICES ONE BY ONE
INTO REGIMENTATION YOU MUST RUN
AS THEIR ROBOT YOU’VE BECOME

It’s time to get government out of Our faces
Our religions and and Our pocketbooks

Yes. Looking for money. With the right accountants and some well-placed “looking away” in the RNC, one could steal a buttload from their campaign.

I have to agree that there’s something about Santorum that comes across as unlikeable & whiny, even “weaselly”. Sad, because I do agree with him on quite a few points, but he just reads as weak & untrustworthy.

NO !!!!

Let’s break the failed strategy of recycling losers from the last election.

Get a job doing something constructive and stay away from politics.

+1, bro. I'm all in for Dr. Ben Carson. Santorum's a big government Republican.

Memo to DC Pubbies: how about focusing on stopping Obama and his minions, and less talk about the next election?

The Bible-Thumpers don’t seem to realize that Rick Santorum is a creature of the Establishment through and through. His actions in support of Arlen Specter over Toomey should clue them in, but there are none so blind...

Santorum is merely a vote-bleeder, someone who has no chance whatsoever of winning the nomination, but who will split the socon vote enough that the preferred RINO candidate will win. And, after the damage is done, Rick will have all his debts paid off (like last time) and get a nice check for his troubles (like last time).

Some people never learn...

He owes to many people and is a hack who will say anything. He was pegged to be a
go-along to get-along candidate. While maybe a really nicey nice guy, he would be
no better than McCain and sell out to the RATs at the first bad report on MSNBC.
