Even liberals can’t ignore Obama’s ineptitude
Washington Post ^ | April 4, 2013 | Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 04/04/2013 5:09:11 PM PDT by SJackson

The president has gotten off to a rocky second term.

This seems as sound a take as any I have seen lately on the Obama administration’s competency deficit:

Obamacare will fail if he doesn’t start paying more attention to the details of implementation, if he doesn’t start demanding action. And, in a larger sense, the notion of activist government will be in peril — despite the demographics flowing the Democrats’ way — if institutions like the VA and Obamacare don’t deliver the goods. Sooner or later, the Republican Party may come to understand that its best argument isn’t about tearing down the government we have, but making it run more efficiently.

Yuval Levin? Gov. Scott Walker? Nope, that’s uber-liberal columnist Joe Klein, who has — to his credit — discovered and is willing to admit to the serious absence of administrative competence and effort endemic in this administration.

It is much more than just Obamacare, as we have witnessed the president bounce like a ping-pong ball in a wind tunnel from crisis to crisis. Sequestration. North Korean saber-rattling. Failure of his anti-gun agenda. There is not an initiative he’s begun either foreign or domestic that has been well conceived, introduced and implemented. Add in Fast and Furious and the series of green-energy crony capitalism flops and you have an extraordinary record of ineptitude. (Klein supplies examples of less-discussed failures: “There has also been the studied inattention to the myriad ineffective job-training programs scattered through the bureaucracy. There have been the oblique and belated efforts to reform Head Start, a $7 billion program that a study conducted by its own bureaucracy — the Department of Health and Human Services — has found nearly worthless. The list is endless.”)

As long as Jack Lew and Bernanke can create 40 cents in Obama minibucks for each dollar in tax revenue, he’s OK.

Entitlements bought the 2012 election, and continue to satisfy a slim majority of Americans....

What're they talking about? He's got vacation-taking down to a freakin' science. If they gave a Nobel prize for spending incredible amounts of money on relaxation, Obama would leave the the rest of the field in the dust.

The more he’s exposed and put in a corner and challenged, the more vendictive and destuctive he’ll become.

Remember what Valerie Jarret said abour Revenge in the second term.

This is one evil bastard.

The president has gotten off to a rocky second term.

How the hell would we know? He's been on vacation since the inauguration, for cripes sake! Or, are they referring to his association, or lack thereof, with his wife...the single mother, Moooooooochelle?

Remember, when liberals say Obama is inept, they mean he hasn’t quite seized dictatorial powers and pushed the progressive agenda. There are still some tiny flames of freedom yet to be stamped out.

She should google Yuri Bezmenov. They'll continue to ignore the obvious until the moment they are lined up against the wall.

Since I see no difference in the second administration from the first, I must assume Mr. Klein waited until after Zero was safely re-elected before admitting to the truth. Such is the way with liberals.

Not if Democrats realize they would be better off with Joe Biden in the White House. Biden is the one that got the only thing close to an agreement on the deficit. Biden knows how to work with Republicans to get legislation passed and like Lyndon Johnson would be more effective if he were president instead of vice president. Johnson, like Biden today, was portrayed as the comic relief in the Kennedy administration, but Johnson proved more effective at getting legislation passed.

The growing number of scandals should provide an opportunity to impeach Obama, particularly his mishandling of the Libyan situation that has allowed al qaeda to gain a foothold there .

I don’t care if nothing he makes actually works right.

He cares for little guys like me.
And he’s cool and hip like us, him and Michelle the cool WH couple.

That’s all that counts.

Jennifer Rubin complains that the Obama administration does not provide good government but her complaint misses the point, the Obama administration is not in business to provide good government, it is in business to provide more government. Jennifer Rubin exhorts us to redouble our efforts to provide common sense and prudence in governing. She misses the whole point.

The critical point that Obama understands and Jennifer Rubin does not is that the remedy for failed socialism is invariably more socialism. As the country culturally slouches towards Gomorrah, the country politically is lurching toward a gulag. The deeper we descend into the quagmire the more difficult it will be to get out. Obama is not trying to drive the country toward a more enlightened healthcare delivery system, he is trying to drive the country into a statist healthcare delivery system.

Obama does not care that the wealth of the nation is being mismanaged, that he is now in the process of impoverishing a third-generation, (thus doing to our grandchildren that which he has done for our children.) The system which provides our nation with unprecedented wealth and security is disintegrating because Obama despises the current system and wants to replace it. He believes that the system of law is unfair, he believes the Constitution is unfair and therefore neither the rule of law nor the Constitution itself should be observed. To the contrary, the Constitution and the rule of law as they exist (to the degree that they still do exist) are instruments of oppression and must be done away with.

It does not matter to Obama if the substance of the nation is being squandered because the system is illegitimate and must be junked to be replaced with a mechanism for distributing goods and services which is not based on the free market, on merit, on labor, or on property but rather on considerations of race, class, and egalitarianism.

If the system is inherently unfair it follows that it is not unfair to resort to lies, corruption, racialism, and class warfare, to undermine the system. To the contrary, it is noble to do so. At the end justifies the means, so electoral and governing corruption are justified as means to the utopia.

Our mistake is to believe that when the people see the evidence of Detroit, or Minneapolis, or California, or the ponderous inhumanity of Obama care, they will see the folly of their votes for Obama and Democrats and cleave to conservatism. They will not because it is contrary to human nature to admit one's own folly and it is further contrary to human nature to sacrifice short-term interest for long-term benefit and, finally, it is contrary to human nature to sacrifice oneself for the good of another. If we have not learned these lessons from the last election we are uneducable. One need only look at modern-day Greece to confirm this understanding of human nature. If one needs a more authoritative source, the Old Testament can be seen as a history of people who could not permanently learn a lesson about their relationship to God which seems so plain to us conservatives.

Nor is it wise privately to believe that our woes are caused through the venality or folly of elected politicians. That is fine for a public election campaign but in our hearts we must understand that you cannot cheat an honest man. Politicians sell the country out because they know that to stand for righteousness is to put their own heads on the block. They will not be admired but reviled and cast into the political wilderness. Ultimately, we get the government we deserve.

All of this is to say that if we want to save the nation from the destruction to which the policies of the current administration are condemning us, we must plead our case to the electorate with a firm understanding of human nature and a clear and compelling ideal that appeals to the realities of human nature and does not futilely ask the electorate to do what it is inherently incapable of doing.

See Ronald Reagan's How-To Manual.

Why would you think she voted for Obama? She's been highly critical as long as I've read her.
