Melanne Verveer, Hillary Clinton's longtime confidante and former chief of staff, isn't defending a picture of President Barack Obama's all-male inner circle. To her, it naturally begs a question: "Where are the women?"
Verveer, the first ambassador of the State Department office for Global Womens Issues and now executive director of the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security, also didn't criticize the reaction that followed an early January New York Times story topped with a photograph of Obama facing 10 male top advisers.
"Well, you heard the reactionit reverberated across the country," Verveer said in an interview with Yahoo News. "Any woman looking at that, what was the message to her? Well, 'women dont belong.'"
She added, "Theres the old story of the photo says far more than a thousand words, and I think that the reaction was one that is well documented, which is: Where are the women?"
The picture of Obama's inner circle was published at a time when the president was working to fill multiple top positions in his administration at the start of his second term, and he had appointed only white men such as John Kerry (State), Chuck Hagel (Defense) and John Brennan (CIA) to the highest roles.
There, Verveer, under Secretary of State Clinton, helped integrate women's issues and their perspective into U.S. foreign policy and the State Department's practices. This involved gender guidance directives for the department, including for the training of diplomats, integrating women in peace and security initiatives, bringing women's issues into the economic sphere, focusing on violence against women, women in agriculture and a host of other issues.

"Empowering women isn't just the right thing, it's the necessary thing. And because women are increasingly ruling, the world is changing for the better."
"Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."
its a muslim thing.....and Jarrett is basically Muslim Brotherhood.
Are you implying that President Valerie Jarrett is not part of the Big Bro O Club?
She gets off on power, period.
Psyops...paving the dirt road for Hillary Rotten Criminal’s POSOTUS run.

Hillary never said a word about his or the treatment of women in Islamic nations.
Its as fake as all her concerns.
Exactly. Clintonistas vs Obamites and the Old White Man’s Party.
She's probably the one who hates having other women around.

I observed the following employee count last week while visiting various places of business: post office lobby - 8 women, 2 men; bank lobby - 11 women, 2 men; department store - more than 30 women, fewer than 10 men; auto repair shop - about equal number of men and women; drugstore - more than 20 women, 3 men; insurance company office - all women. Women rule.
The media is going to tear Obama apart on this!
Oh, wait. Obama is a liberal Democrat. Nothing to see here. Move along.
She’s probably the one who hates having other women around.
I’d pay to see Valerie Jarrett and Hitlery locked in a one bed room for a week.
Where are all the women? Hilary’s bedroom.
Well-stated, halfast. Thanks.
She looks lika man to me. Farrakhan.
Yes, she is. Along with her family.
Bam don’t like girls. Valerie Jarret is his Mom.
Clinton and obama were raised by doting mommies. Those type usually end up misogynists.
SHE IS the President.
She may or may not be.
Acts like she has more balls than he does.
Have read that both speak Farsi. Both are Leftists.
Have no doubt both are enemies of We the People.
No kidding....I often notice the LACK of MEN in the workplaces I see.
LOL! Simple Melanie!
Barry and the Boys
Bush's fault, obviously.
To her, it naturally begs a question: “Where are the women?”
That’s simple Melanie, they are making sandwiches and
getting the coffee so they didn’t have time to be in
Is it possible, the rumors are true: he feels more comfortable around men.
