Seeking an elusive middle ground, President Barack Obama is proposing a 2014 budget that embraces tax increases abhorred by Republicans as well as reductions, loathed by liberals, in the growth of Social Security and other benefit programs.
The plan, if ever enacted, could touch almost all Americans. The rich would see tax increases, the poor and the elderly would get smaller annual increases in their benefits, and middle income taxpayers would slip into higher tax brackets despite Obama’s repeated vows not to add to the tax burden of the middle class. His proposed changes, once phased in, would mean a cut in Social Security benefits of nearly $1,000 a year for an average 85-year-old, smaller cuts for younger retirees. …
Obama’s proposal, however, includes calls for increased spending. It proposes $50 billion for public works projects. It also would make preschool available to more children by increasing the tax on tobacco. …

They and he are inching toward a national retirement account where they will dictate what they think you should have and they can give out the rest to the less fortunate. Its all about economic fairness dont ya know. They hate retiree’s and thier unfair retirement packages just waiting to be looted buy these criminals

The elderly who worked all their lives and saved a few pennies to retire on have had their savings decimated by an interest rate of 0.10% now they want to cut their Social security and put them on Obamacare and ration their health care.
Everyone over 70 should take up arms and march on Washington.At least we could put off a lingering death by Obama’s incompetence.

The government is not worried. With Obamacare, everyone over 70 will have their healthcare cut off. No healthcare, no seniors, no problem. The government's "final solution" for its own people is to work them to death; taking every dime they can beat out of them while they are alive.
The only question is whether: some people take slightly fewer benefits in a graduated way, or a decade or two later, everyone takes 100% fewer benefits all at once.
So the only "cut" Obambi is proposing is 130-100 billion = 30 billion over 10 years from the so-called chained CPI. This is less than 3 billion per year due to compounding. This is much less than one tenth of one percent of the budget. This is not even distinguishable in a budget overview. For this, he wants an additional 300 billion in tax increases. This isn't a compromise, it's simply more propaganda, diligently fed to the public by a compliant media.
I can see Bohner going for this as he TOO IS INSANE!
