Gay Radio Host: Gay Son Must Reject Conservative Dad
NewsBusters ^ | April 06, 2013 | 07:53 | Tim Graham

On The Huffington Post, gay radio host Michelangelo Signorile—last mentioned here when he told a pro-Romney caller to his show to buy arsenic and drink it—is angry at the son of Rep. Matt Salmon (R-Ariz.). Salmon must either cave and support the LGBT agenda, or the son must reject his father for being “selfish” and remaining conservative.

All parents should “reconcile their faith” with the LGBT agenda, or be cut off:

Fortunately, my own parents, like millions across the country and around the world, including, most recently, Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), came around after their initial shock and reconciled their support for me with their faith. How do such parents do it? Often by actually drawing on that faith itself. They realize that their children’s well-being is paramount. Raising children is a life-changing, transformational experience in which people are challenged in so many areas to rethink deep-seated beliefs. And this is one of them.
Gay leftists are so anti-religious that they never consider that a religious parent of a child who announces they are homosexual sees that as a dire threat to their salvation, a spiritual harm. It always has to be painted as hate defeating love, a clinging to selfishness, instead of differing ideas about what love is. …

Same-Sex Marriage is not about marriage. A minuscule number of same-sex couples are going to get and stay “married.”

It’s all about giving the Totalitarian State another weapon to use on churches and other private organizations.

Makes me think of some present-day lakes of fire, such as the biggest lava lake right now in the crater of Mount Nyiragongo, a volcano in the Congo (former Zaïre). The photos in this article show just how massive it is, never mind the crazy scientists that actually went into the crater to stand next to it (it periodically overflows onto the crater floor).

“Raising children is a life-changing, transformational experience in which people are challenged in so many areas to rethink deep-seated beliefs.”

I have to agree with this statement. Raising children challenged me in deep seated beliefs that were not biblical or plain just beliefs drived from my own upbringing that were not necessarily true. It changed my thoughts and attitudes in so many areas. One thing more than ever though stuck out - God’s word is true.

He is not mocked not is he used to be told what to think. As a Father, He, has given all to ensure the well being of His children but He will not go against His word. Neither should we.

If I had a homosexual son he could either not bring up the subject or he could hit the road.

Do not bring his boyfriends around me and do not even bring up the subject.

I do have a homosexual nephew and it sickens me to be around him.

I think that the most constructive way to approach the issue is through a Christian, rather than a political, lens. Simply stating that, “You can love the sinner without loving the sin.” says it all.

I’m sure you’ll be cursed out by a few folks on FR for your comments on what you’d do if you had a gay son... tolerance, he’s family etc.

I agree on your thought process only slightly different I’d disown him and he’d be on the road not around me. It’s a self chosen lifestyle and I wouldn’t tolerate it from anybody, family or not. Making exceptions for family is compromising your beliefs, ethics and morals and we’re in this mess because folks make exceptions to a lot of different things when it suits them.

There are some things that a decent, moral individual cannot...*must* not...tolerate in others.Even in a parent, spouse, sibling or child.Just to give one example,I wouldn't expect *anyone* in my family (including my kids) to be anything but utterly *disgusted* if I were to begin torturing and murdering young kids.I'd fully expect to be totally rejected in such a situation. While routinely engaging in perverted homosexual acts (and lifestyle) may not be quite as despicable as the torture and murder of children it's more than disgusting enough to qualify for rejection.A biological inclination to be attracted to one of the same gender may be inborn...I don't know.I'm not a scientist,a physician,a geneticist, etc. But engaging in the *act* is *completely* within the control of the individual in question...just as is engaging in the act of killing a child.

One of the reasons that homosexuality is now so popular is that many do have homosexual relatives or have “friends” of that “orientation” and begin to see them as “normal.” Dick Cheney comes to mind, as people do not want to be called “bigoted” or “narrow-mindend” though the forgotten Scripture says the opposite.

“Raising children is a life-changing, transformational experience in which people are challenged in so many areas to rethink deep-seated beliefs.”

This hasn’t been my experience. Rather, it’s been a life-changing, transformational experience in which I’ve been challenged in so many areas to deepen and make more real the faith I always professed.

If anything, I’m more Catholic now, after a couple of decades of fatherhood, than I was when my first son was born.
