This is the politically manipulative and ridiculous nonsense that has replaced truthful information about Islam and jihad. And the implications of it are quite ominous. Evangelical Christianity, Catholicism and "Islamophobia" are forms of "Religion Extremism" on par with al-Qaeda and Hamas? Then how long will it be before the Obama Administration goes to war against them, as it has repeatedly declared that it is at war with al-Qaeda?
Note also: Obama has repeated many, many times that we are not at war with Islam, and the mainstream media line is that to suggest otherwise would be evidence of "hatred" and "bigotry." But apparently it is not "hatred" and "bigotry" for the U.S. to declare that Catholicism is the same sort of thing as al-Qaeda. Now, the list does include "Sunni Muslims," but specifies those in Iraq -- we already know that there is no possible way that the Obama Administrations means to classify all Sunni Muslims as "extremists." And the list also apparently specifies that only Catholicism in the U.S. is a form of "religious extremism." But that's bad enough: where are the Catholics flying planes into buildings, bombing Baptist churches, and threatening to conquer the nation and subjugate non-Catholics under the rule of church law?
This is not going to end well.
"US Army Labeled Evangelicals, Catholics as Examples of Religious Extremism," by Todd Starnes for Fox News, April 5 (thanks to Pamela Geller):
The U.S. Army listed Evangelical Christianity and Catholicism as examples of religious extremism along with Al Qaeda and Hamas during a briefing with an Army Reserve unit based in Pennsylvania, Fox News has learned.
We find this offensive to have Evangelical Christians and the Catholic Church to be listed among known terrorist groups, said Ron Crews, executive director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty. It is dishonorable for any U.S. military entity to allow this type of wrongheaded characterization.
The incident occurred during an Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief on extremism. Topping the list is Evangelical Christianity. Other organizations listed included Catholicism, Al Qaeda, Hamas, the Ku Klux Klan, Sunni Muslims, and Nation of Islam.
The military also listed Islamophobia as a form of religious extremism.
Look, I don't claim to be a good Christian, but I'll sure stand beside all the good ones I know! Time to take a break from the prayers, get vocal and demand this nonsense STOP!
Join the service, eh?
Only a Moslem would think that way.
What are “Christian Identity” or “Hutaree” and why are flds listed but not lds?
Thank you for posting that, SeeAndFind, I can’t get my imageshack to work!
RE: Christian Identity
Christian Identity is a label applied to a wide variety of loosely affiliated believers and churches with a white supremacist theology. Most promote a racist interpretation of Christianity.
Wesley Swift (19131970) is considered by the FBI to have been the single most significant figure in the early years of the Christian Identity movement. Swift was born in New Jersey, and eventually moved to Los Angeles in order to attend Bible college. It is claimed that he may have been a “Ku Klux Klan organizer and a Klan rifle-team instructor.
Hutaree is a militia movement group adhering to the ideology of the Christian Patriot movement, based near Adrian, Michigan, in the United States. The group was formed in early 2006.
The name “Hutaree” appears to be a neologism; the group’s web site says that it means “Christian warriors”.
The group became widely known in 2010 after the FBI prosecuted them in federal court for an alleged plan for violent revolt. The prosecution said this was to have involved killing a police officer and attacking the funeral with bombs. The presiding judge dismissed these charges. Three members pled guilty to possessing a machine gun and were sentenced to time served.
Forgive the off-topic question, but i cant find something in searches due to not knowing the spelling... Im in a debate / conversation with a lib and cant remember that modern socialist theorist duo that obama follows. (Not alinsky). Its a hyphenated word with both the theorists names, i think. It has something in the name like... clivins.. pivins... pickins... ??? Any clue would be much appreciated so i can streamline a search!
Never mind. Someone just answered! (Cloward-pivin)
Here’s a question that just came to my mind... Knowing quite a number of military men, I am quite sure that a significant number of those in the army are Evangelical and Catholics.
Why the SILENCE on this? They should unite and protest this outrage.
It’s all backasswards ‘B’!
Be Ever Vigilant!
“Knowing quite a number of military men, I am quite sure that a significant number of those in the army are Evangelical and Catholics......Why the SILENCE on this? They should unite and protest this outrage.”
I don’t know, Seek. We’ve heard conspiracy theory about this stuff, but here it is right in our faces. Sometimes I think they are just like us...they just CANNOT believe it to be true. And some of them will sell out to keep their ‘job’.
Wunderful. I’m sure they’ll let the Ft Hood shooter off because he felt oppressed by the Islamaphobes all around him. Those people, extremist Christians all, obviously deserved what they got. [/s]
RE: And some of them will sell out to keep their job.
Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels — Jesus Christ (Luke 9:26)
Thanks, S&F...I had never heard the term...it’s always nice to know who it is we’re being HUNG WITH!
“The incident occurred during an Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief on extremism. Topping the list is Evangelical Christianity. Other organizations listed included Catholicism, Al Qaeda, Hamas, the Ku Klux Klan, Sunni Muslims, and Nation of Islam. “
Also here on this subject:
You might be a Useful Idiot if..................
Surprisingly enough they do include the Nation of Islam. So I assume they consider Farrahkan a terrorist? I agree with that if they do. At least they got a portion of it correct.
That is a evasion of reality and is evidence of irrationality. Because the mohammedans declared holy war on America twice in 1996 and 1998 and attacked us in the embassy bombings in Africa, the Cole, and 911.
Who can believe that mormons, catholics, evangelicals, and orthodox jews are together on a list. Their excuse was “the internet” and that’s hogwash.
They're just joking.
If elite liberals have any proof of killer groups comprised of white middle class conservative Christians they need to hand it over to their butt boys at the New York Times or the liberal suck-ups at the Washington Post. Those boys would be more than happy to carry water for elite liberals IF THERE'S ANY DAMN WATER... The fact that they can't come up with any examples is telling...
Put up or shut up leftist haters.
More government sponsored lunacy?
This seems to be an hourly occurrence nowadays B.
“This seems to be an hourly occurrence nowadays B.”
Yes, to borrow a phrase, it’s coming ‘fast and furious’....
“IF THERE’S ANY DAMN WATER... The fact that they can’t come up with any examples is telling...

Yes, yes and yes!
Check this out....rather interesting...
Stealth jihadist infiltrates local Tea Party
You know the guy who put that together was a dumbass since he can’t even spell al Qaeda.
Not surprised at all.
In fact government has poured hundreds of thousands of Muslims into the U.S. in just the past 10 years or so.
This par for the course of things that just keep happening under the mainstream Radar. Islamist/communists/socialist/totalitarian/power hungry nutjobs/you name it are in charge and here is another one of those results. Who here doesn’t think that some of these nutjobs are planning on using the military on those groups(except maybe the islamists) at some point along with others? It is there fantasy and wet dream to commit mass murder on a “glorious” scale. Its who they are and we are literally in their cross-hairs.
I am getting a good sense for what the more enlightened Jews of Nazi Germany saw before they really started to get seriously hosed by the state. Its coming here and no doubt in most parts of the world. Your also getting a good look at the internals of the headcases that are coming up with this tripe just like you saw under Lenin.
Interesting take on this article by Robert Spencer of Jihad watch:
The idea that there is any factor unifying these disparate groups is howlingly absurd, and this list would be laughable if it werent coming from the U.S. Army. Apparently this is the politically manipulative and ridiculous nonsense that has replaced truthful information about Islam and jihad. On October 19, 2011, the Executive Director of an Islamic organization called Muslim Advocates, Farhana Khera, wrote a letter to Barack Obamas then-Deputy National Security Advisor for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism and current CIA director John Brennan. It was signed by 57 organizations, including many with ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR); the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA); Islamic Relief USA; the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA); the Muslim American Society (MAS); and the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC).
The letter denounced U.S. government agencies use of biased, false and highly offensive training materials about Muslims and Islam. Ignoring the factual accuracy of the material about which they were complaining, the Muslim groups signing the letter demanded that the task force purge all federal government training materials of biased materials; implement a mandatory re-training program for FBI agents, U.S. Army officers, and all federal, state and local law enforcement who have been subjected to biased training; and more to ensure that only the message about Islam and jihad preferred by the signatories would get through to intelligence and law enforcement agents.
The very same day that Khera sent her letter, Deputy U.S. Attorney General James Cole declared at a conference in Washington that he had recently directed all components of the Department of Justice to re-evaluate their training efforts in a range of areas, from community outreach to national security. This reevaluation removed all references to Islam in connection with any examination of Islamic jihad terror activity. The Obama administration placed off-limits any investigation of the beliefs, motives and goals of jihad terrorists. Accordingly, in February 2012, the government purged more than 1,000 documents and presentations previously used in training programs that the Muslim groups had deemed inaccurate or offensive to Muslims.
And now we see what the Obama administration has replaced that material with. The implications of the U.S. Armys Religious Extremism list are quite ominous. Evangelical Christianity, Catholicism and Islamophobia are forms of Religious Extremism on par with al-Qaeda and Hamas? Then how long will it be before the Obama administration goes to war against them, as it has repeatedly declared that it is at war with al-Qaeda?
