A recent solicitation from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) reveals that the agency is seeking a "massive" online database capable of pulling up individuals' personal information, connections and associates.
On March 28, ATF posted the notice on FedBizOpps.gov, entitled "Investigative System." The solicitation was updated on April 5 with a few minor changes.
The document says that the system will be utilized by staff "to provide rapid searches on various entities for example; names, telephone numbers, utility data and reverse phone look-ups, as a means to assist with investigations, and background research on people, assets and businesses."
The system is described as a "massive online data repository system that contains a wide variety of data sources both historically and current that can be utilized in support of investigations and backgrounds."
The overview of the solicitation states:
Staff will utilize "a number of internal databases as well as external sources to provide timely and relevant information and intelligence products to law enforcement agencies at the federal, state and local levels."
The system "provides a means to rapidly check records across the country" and is "necessary in assisting investigators, agents and analyst to find people, their assets, relatives, associates and more."

Big brother wants bigger toys.
IF the ATF does do some door-to-door they don’t want you calling for back-up.
So they want that gun owner data base that is illegal, well the law means very little to this administration. I suspect many thousands of people will have boating accidents where their weapons sadly fell overboard and sank, unrecoverable to the bottom of some body of water, preferably very ,very deep.
Just another “database” for the hackers to hack. Life-Lock’s business is booming.

Is Life-Lock immune from intrusion by hackers or the government?
Ahem it’s called Facebook. And yes, they will, can and (I assume) DO useit to their benefit.
Problem is that with the tools they want, they'll know if you're lying about that boating accident, if you own a boat, or if you have any associates who own a boat that recently sank. They want something that can calculate every move based on every previous move and predict every last outcome. Lying will likely be accounted for.
Because we haven’t rebelled , we deserve whats coming to us.

Well that’s OK, I lost mine well out in the desert. I accidentally set up over what turned out to be an abandoned mine shaft, lost everything including my ammo, I have never been able to relocate the place. Sadly I did not have my cell phone and drove a pre computerized era car, so no tracking.
You can bet Big Sis has a backdoor into that. That said, anyone can get the basic info on anyone free off the internet.
Although I have a Facebook account, I’ve only used it to see other Facebook pages, never posted anything about myself on it, and now absolutely intend never, ever to post anything about myself on it.

With at least one exception: Barack Hussein Obama aka Barry Soetoro, etc., etc.
The system could be flooded with false claims and that could work both ways.
