McCain: 'I don't understand' GOP filibuster on guns
Politico ^ | April 7, 2013 | Jennifer Epstein

Sen. John McCain says he doesn't understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns.

"I don't understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.”

"What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?" McCain said on CBS's "Face the Nation."

... and exactly what, pray tell, could the Rinos and Rats add to the dialog that's constructive ... that's not incredibly stupid ... and has not been said before ... repeatedly?

It’s ok senator, there are many things about America you don’t understand. Just wave your global warming sign and smile for the cameras.

“The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.”

No, you are wrong. You are supposed to listen to the people and serve the people not the government. You are the one out of touch. Who do you really think you are?

What do you mean, “WE”, you stooge?

This “issue” is only “important” to the tyrants who want to mitigate our ability to defend ourselves from criminals and tyrants, not to mention their useful idiot stooges like McCain.

He doesn’t understand it because he’s a senile, liberal fool. Just change your political party and get it over with, scumbag.

McCain does not seem to understand much of anything anymore! He seems to forget too often which side of the aisle he is on and who voted him into to office to represent them. He is a classic example of why we not only need term limits but maybe also age limits on elected office! I want to tell him thank you for your service, now sit down shut up and go fishing.

It is merely the Constitutional limitation of the power of government, which is something else on your list of things you don't understand, McCain.

Which is more intelligent:

Senator McCain or a box of rocks?

I vote for the rocks.

“The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.”

Yet the filibuster option exists for a reason.

McCain: 'I don't understand'

Looks like events are passing you by, senator.

You've been around a long while. Maybe its time to consider retirement.

It’s ok, John, take a few breaths into the paper bag and avoid having a coronary. You will get plenty of time to bloviate on FOX and other networks that still think what you have to say is relevant.
You might read John, that when Washington was taking Trenton, he picked up a few settlers along the river so they would not run off and tell the Brits or the Hessians in Trenton we were coming....one day you may need to sit down and shut up and let America be what Americans are and its not all about you, John,
It’s WE THE PEOPLE...

Because federal officeholders — i.e. senators and congresscritters — cannot be recalled. This was settled in 1967 in a federal court in Idaho involving an attempt to recall Sen. Frank Church.
