Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday expressed sympathy for the families of nine Turkish activists killed during violent clashes with Israeli commandos who raided a ship trying to break the security blockade of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.
Speaking in Istanbul, Kerry commented on a recent U.S.-mediated deal aimed at ending a diplomatic rift between Israel and Turkey, whose Islamist government is supportive of Hamas. The agreement entailed an Israeli apology for any errors that could have led to loss of life during the 2010 incident and a pledge to negotiate compensation.
Speaking alongside Kerry, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stressed the importance of compensation for families of those killed on the vessel, Mavi Marmara, in line with the need for Israeli accountability.

Ft Hood families?
He would. They are on the same side.
Maybe he thinks the current Turkish rulers are kind of like the North Vietnamese—nice guys!
It's seared, seared in his memory...
He just visited Netanyahu.
Why didn’t he just spit in his face when they met.
Why wait and stab him in the back when he visits the Turks.
Kerry is an idiot. A Traitor, and anti-American POS.
Soon he will be wanting us to set aside a day to honor Pol Pot.
Kerry is the useful idiot that keeps going, and going, and going...
traitor bastard as well as hagel and pretty much every dimocrao.
We know whose side he’s on.
he is speaking for the USA - what did we do to warrant an apology?
I have no sympathy for those who die supporting terrorists. Whether the flotilla or Rachel Corrie, flat as a pancake is a natural consequence of their stupid and evil choices.
The ones on the flotilla were themselves actual terrorists, IIRC.
