'Gang of Eight' to Oppose Any Amendments to Their 1,500-Page Amnesty Bill

Just when you thought the Senate push for amnesty couldn't get any more shameful...it sets a fresh low

All the members of the “Gang of Eight” pushing so-called 'immigration reform' in the U.S. Senate will band together to block any efforts by other senators to offer amendments to their legislation once it is introduced, the Washington Post reported on Sunday.

In addition, the Post's David Nakamura reported that the forthcoming immigration bill "is expected to be around 1,500 pages long", and that the Gang of Eight “is trying to strike a deal in which all the members agree to oppose any amendments to the core provisions, even if they might agree with the amendments, people familiar with the talks said.”

“The group is concerned that if one provision is amended, the entire bill will fall apart because the deal is predicated on a comprehensive plan composed of carefully negotiated pieces,” Nakamura wrote.

So no public hearings, no amendments, and no transparency on a massive bill - another bill we have to "pass so we can find out what's in it". Sound familiar?

Meanwhile, Breitbart's Matthew Boyle reports that Sen. Marco Rubio is disputing WaPo's account:

In response to Nakamura’s article on Monday, Gang of Eight member Sen. Marco Rubio’s spokesman Alex Conant said that his description of the process being worked on is not correct. “The legislation that the eight senators are working on is only the start of the process; we expect several committee hearings, a full debate, and an open process for other senators to offer amendments.”
But as Stand With Arizona previously reported, Chairman Leahy will have none of it, and wants to rush through a bill as fast as he can once the bill is presented, betting that when push comes to shove, Rubio will get on board, lest he sees obstruction as jeopardizing his prospects for the 2016 Republican Presidential nomination.

SWA believes that the strategy of Senate Democrats is to muscle the bill through, and then put pressure on House Speaker John Boehner to permit a controversial floor vote on the bill - which could then pass with all Democrats voting for it and only a handful of Republicans - violating a longstanding precedent that Boehner has already tossed in the trash several times this year.

And Rubio looks more like a useful idiot for amnesty with each passing day.

Rubio spent all of January and February making the rounds of conservative talk shows and assuring grassroots activists that the "Gang of Eight" bill would contain "enforcement triggers" and "border security first" provisions, before any "path to citizenship" would be offered to illegal aliens.

But as soon as Rubio's assurances were uttered, his "Gang" ally, the slimy Chuck Schumer (D-NY), was dispelling them, first proclaiming that "we’re not using border security as an excuse or block to the path of citizenship"; and on Sunday pulling away Rubio's last fig leaf, declaring that "first, people will be legalized....Then, we will make sure the border is secure.”

In other words, this is an amnesty bill, plain and simple. And pay no attention to our stooge Marco Rubio, who we know will just fall in line rather than be left behind as we rush it through without any amendments or public hearings.

So it is all exposed, all the lies and deceptions. There is nothing left except one question, to Marco Rubio: "Why are you still in the 'Gang of Eight' and when will you be leaving?"

Rubio, Rubio wherefore art thou, Rubio?

samefull.

Washington is broken and un-repairable. I fear it may take the blood of many country men to set it straight again.

“And Rubio looks more like a useful idiot for amnesty with each passing day.”

As Florida's governor, Rubio blocked every GOP attempt to pass Arizona-style immigration enforcement laws.

Before Rubio arrived in the Senate, his chief-of-staff made at least two public speeches basically endorsing Obama’s Amnesty plan.

Rubio was not Florida’s governor.

That being said, I’ve no use for this man, and I do not trust him at all.

Big Goof!

Rubio was never governor.

He was Speaker of the Florida House.

I was thinking about that doofuss Charlie Crist, who ran against Rubio for Senator.

1500 pages. I suppose they’ll have to pass it in order to find out what’s in it.

Looks like the ‘Gang of Eight’ are following Commie Obama’s fear of working with Congress.

The Congressional Bypass Commie ‘Deal’ by the ‘Gang of Eight” puts an indelible stain on The US Congress Regular Order.

The basic problem with ANY Immigration Bill, is that the US Federal Government has since 1986 refused to enforce the Federal laws that are already on the books.

Thus, the ‘Gang of Eight” are putting together a bill that will fail to stop the illegal aliens invading America.

What will not fail is the increased hostility of Americans toward illegal aliens who have invaded our Country from 1986 on.

“Amnesty, No!
Hostility, YE$$$$$$$$$$$$!”

The gang rape of eight can go screw themselves, including M. Rubio for having anything to do with these slight of hand idiots behind closed doors and out site of the public at large in the first place!

Combine this socialist wet dream with the gun control wet dream and all hell will break out in 2014, let's hope we can hold the door to all this socialist legislation until the elections!

America cannot count on the RINO’s, our only hope is the filibuster from Cruz, Lee, and Paul!! Like it or not, these are the only true Americans who are willing to take a stand to protect and defend the American people's Constitution!! If this was such a great idea, why is it being constructed and written behind closed doors just like the social health care bill (obangocare) was? Because the gang rape of eight knows the American people by and large, are not buying any of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rubio was Speaker of the FL House, not Governor. And he did indeed block E-Verify and advocated for in-state tuition for illegal aliens - just what one would expect from a Jeb bush acolyte.

I've written everyone of them to ask that they include an amendment that all background checks done for "pathway" applications include cross checking voter registration roles.

While they are willing to forgive illegal entry, they should not allow a second crime of felony vote fraud to go unchecked.

None will acknowledge the idea - not even Rubio.

Rubio is the scariest of all. Always was to me. He might be ignorant and naïve, but whatever he’s selling, I am not buying. I can’t listen to him nor can I read what he has to say.

The worst part is that so many conservatives have or had an infatuation with him it was like tenth grader mentality. Frightening.

But, but how can this be?
Rubio is one Hannity's favorite "conservative" Senators.

Presently pushing Texans around like they are the rulers. Shopkeepers, Church leaders, city officials all apologizing for not speaking Spanish.
