According to internal documents obtained by Air Force Times, beginning on Apr. 9, 2013, the U.S. Air Force will begin grounding front line combat units as a consequence of sequestration and the need to deal with budget cuts.
Seventeen squadrons belonging to the various U.S. Air Force commands are going to be affected by the stand down order.
The grounding is aimed to save the 44,000 flying hours (worth 591 million USD) through September.
The funded 241,496 flying hours will be distributed to those squadrons that will remain combat ready or are expected to keep a reduced readiness level called basic mission capable until the end of the Fiscal Year 2013.

“AF1 - $180,000.00 an hour.
Party time at the WH.
Obama and Biden vacations
Seperate planes for the Resident and the Beast.
The Liars daughters spring breaks. (Im sure the SS that went with them should have been doing the tours).”
That could be a commercial:
“Who’s in your wallet?”
He's being a good little world socialist. Can't have a strong America ready willing and able to act unilaterally. Oh no, can't have that. hussein sees himself above it all, even America, he wants us weak enough that we cannot direct nor even significantly influence world affairs. He wants a "one world" we're all in one big miserable boat together outcome. Treasonous bast**d.
That could be a commercial:
Whos in your wallet?
It would be funny to see a photo of Moochie raiding a pile of picked wallets and stolen purses.
Even if food stamps weren’t touched, What about all the Russian helicopters Zero is buying for Afghanistan? He is all for anything that diminishes America. Anything, at any level. He has only three more years to completely ruin us, or mohammed won’t be happy with him.
Yep! Cut the military so we can pay all those disability claims, food stamps, welfare, fuel oil, cell phones etc. What a country!
The same kind of crap any big city mayor pulls when he doesn’t get enough taxes: close the swimming pools, police stations and fire halls; leave the payola, union drones and gold plated benefits for the well-connected untouched.
hussein is pleased with the grounding as it furthers his agenda. However, once the benefits end, the revolt is on.
I’m assuming no drone flights have been cancelled.
They flew in the families (the willing ones) from Sandy Hook Elementary, to (testify) and be exploited today in the PR campaign against our Right to Keep and Bear Arms today in D.C. onboard AF1...
All throughout my 28 years in the Air Force, never did I once, even through the disastrous Carter years, envision 17 squadrons grounded because of budgetary problems... especially as we face a possible ramping up to conflict in the Far East.
We are in a very different world now.
“I wonder if AF1 pilots and ground crews are affected? Naaaa...probably not. FUBO”
Any bets that AF Executive Transport IS NOT facing any serious cuts??
What would our Democrat betters do without their free Air Force Exec Jets! Why, they might have to travel with the unwashed!
Having been through the Clinton years, and taking the RIF in ‘96, I HAVE seen this before. They didn’t “Officially” ground them, but they didn’t have spares, and some flying was down to less than 3 hours, A MONTH, barely enough to maintain cert.
When Kosovo came, they were cannibalizing stateside aircraft to the bone, to keep the aircraft in Italy going. The rebuild line at Nellis actually stopped for weeks, (full pay, of course), due to lack of parts.
In 1962 we still had a blue Link Trainer in our high school, along with some full size wooden props, and complete radial engines with, IIRC a cut-away cylinder. Course, we also had an armory and shooting range in the main building.
Send them all home.We have not used them for years.

Thanks for that.
