One of Hollywood’s leading executives who supports the Republican party said the GOP is being “hijacked” by anti-immigration groups and other special interests.

Michael Burns, the vice chairman of Lions Gate Entertainment, the filmmaker and entertainment powerhouse, tells Newsmax TV in an exclusive interview the GOP needs to open up to Hispanics and other immigrant groups or it will wither.

“The Republicans are losing a marvelous opportunity to embrace the Hispanic community through immigration reform and it’s now or never,” he said. “The moderates that I know—and I consider myself a moderate—feel very strongly about this.” …

It’s the moderates that have hijacked the party and you are a co-conspirator...

The GOP needs to open to Conservatives.

Well, good luck to this fellow. Maybe they’ll get enough RINOs to replace people like me who have left the GOP.

What, conservatives? The ones with (as Juan McCain described it) “wacko-bird” tendencies . . . ?

Well, that’s nice. They’ll be perennial losers to the Dems in that case and will of course merge with that party officially, eventually.

what do you mean to be open to hispanics and minorities?? Doesn’t the GOP platform accomodate everyone?

I recall reading the entire platform during the last election and IMO should be atractive to any right thinking citizen.

“The moderates that I know—and I consider myself a moderate—feel very strongly about this.”

Does anyone else see the irony in this statement?

Moderates are lying, manipulative, bottom feeding scum. Learn it live it.

The GOP has been moderated into a coma and Kapo republicans are pinching the feeding tube as the democrats goose step into full on fascism.

Frankly, anyone who can worry about moderating the GOP in the face of open fascism on the part of democrats needs to be called out as an enemy infiltrator.

Unfortunately it doesn’t.
The way the GOPe leadership looks at this is that Conservatives have nowhere to go. Even if we choose not to vote, we won’t vote for a credible opponent to the Republicans (i.e. a Democrat). So, if they lose one Conservative vote to gain one “Moderate” vote, they see that as a net gain of one vote - the Moderate counts as two votes because the Democrats have lost his vote and the ‘Pubbies gained it.
And so the Republican Party is driven inevitably leftward.

“The Republicans are losing a marvelous opportunity to embrace the Hispanic community

..this line of BS has been used for 20 years with the same result...a luke warm candidate who won't fight, won't tell the truth, and won't speak with conviction....it has always been the party of "who's next in the Rino line"

What makes it worse is that he has the nerve to cite his own family’s Irish immigrant experience. My mother came here in the 1960s from Dublin and would never support this land-of-fruits-and-nuts fellow’s policies.

I think most Republican politicians are happy where they are, they get all the perks that come with the office, and all they have to do is bitch and complain and not take any real responsibility for anything....why ruin a good thing?

Bingo!
Just remember - political parties are about power, not principles.

Oh, yes, let's talk down to the people who come here legally. Let's stifle ourselves so we don't come across as being enthusiastic to have you here legally. Moderates let others guide them. We see what that direction gets us. He does not get the frustration just everyday hard working people feel as they watch the rules for some not being applied. That is not an extreme stance, Mr. director.

I’m not sure what you mean.

Do you believe the Republicans should pander to a supposed monolithic group, who I do not believe exists?

I know plenty of people who have ethnic roots in Latin America and Spain; they are not all of one mind on immigration.

So, what are you calling for here?
