Posted on 04/10/2013 7:13:05 PM PDT by drewh
Tonight there's urgent new evidence that north korea is ready to launch a missile at any hour, any moment, a show of force, a defiant test of world reaction. ABC news has been told that the fuel has been loaded. The missile is on the pad.
And our bob woodruff is in south korea to bring us more details right now. Reporter: The top u. S.
Defense official responded to kim jong-un'sising rhetoric today. North korea's actions have been skating very close to a dangerous line. Reporter: There is some anxiety growing on the streets and in the subways of seoul amid south korean news reports than emergency threat levels jumped to watchcon-2, which is one step away from war.
Even as koreans went about their daily routines, young koreans have lived through endless propaganda and missile tests for decades. Now even they are starting to wonder about kim jong-un. He is very crazy.
Reporter: He's crazy? Parents are getting nervous. Sae jung kim told me for the first time in this conflict tomorrow, she will not take her son to kindergarten.
Any strike, anywhere else, i want my kids to be with me. Reporter: Even if that happens, that missile would be mid range called muse dan. Never before tested.
Powerful enough to travel 2,000 miles putting us bases in okinawa or guam within its reach. Moving patriots missiles into position around tokyo.
The danger here is kim jong-un has ramped up the tension to such a point that even the smallest action could provoke a larger fight, a war or significant military clash. Reporter: As for timing, most believe this launch will happen sometime this week because next monday is kim jong-un's grandfather's birthday. On that day, most of these launches have happened in the morning

This coming from ABC News bothers me. I’m not sure how or why, but it does.
ABC is one of the media outlets which speaks on behalf of the Democrat National Committee.
At least Obozo has Tokoyo protected by patriots. How about Guam or n Hawaii?
Question, how many of you have confidence in the Obama administration handling whatever might happen with North Korea???
It is the North Koreans that should be nervous.
They are going to get a terrible reaction if an attack comes.
But I doubt they even know what is going on.
Who the heck knows...it’s a wild card with that SOB.
Picture not exactly right. It needs to show the Chosen One with some choom.
If it did not put this country in danger from within and without, this occupant of the White House would be a bad Cheech and Chong joke.
No, it comes down to whatever benefits him, even in times like this.
Obama probably soiled his pants upon hearing the news, so ABC got worried too.
Hey Kim, bet you can’t hit DC with one of your rockets. Go ahead, I triple dog dare ya.
I think the plan is for Japan to pretend to shoot it down after we did and we give Japan credit.
"Hey, it was just a test launch. We knew it wasn't a real threat."
Yeah. Sure. I'm pretty sure such a display of weakness would be devastating to our global prestige. I think there is a good chance of this happening.
we must have tomahawk or two lying around with nothing to do tonight....
to quote elmer fudd, “siwwy wabbit, fuewing opewations are vewy vewy twicky with wockets and pwocedures can go vewy vewy badwy.”
I have confidence that 0bama will never consciously do anything good or decent for this country.
yeah, the tone is kind of weird.. "he is very crazy.."?
And we shot down a bullet with a bullet out in the desert 4 years ago, something the RATS said couldn’t be done.
IMHO, if the N Koreans so much as launch a bottle rocket, Obama will use it as justification to expend as many strategic weapons as he can in a war of attrition, similar to how he ensured so many cruise missiles were launched into Libya.
The only problem is that he is attriting our forces and nobody others.
Ironically, that seems imported from ... China.
They’ll say they need to refine their formula for baking soda and vinegar.
Broadcasting press releases from the White House on the hour, hour after hour, as though they were Gospel.
OK, I'll bite. Who is going to have a terrible reaction?
As much as I truly want to believe that.....I just can't.
Kabuki to get a military tech swap pact with China.
China would nuke Norlo if it shut down west coast port(s) for even a day
Has anyone laid the blame at Clinton and Carter in the last few weeks for this f’ing mess??
If the norks take out a US city, Obama is gonna take out another US city.
Bet he can’t hit Washington PA either no matter how many times he tries.
Good point. If Obozo had also protected Guam or Hawaii it would be the FIRST positive thing he's ever actually done FOR the USA.
Remember who our pres. is.....
I have confidence that if 0bama doesn’t turn it into a circus, he will turn it into a disaster.
You will do NOTHING!
You WILL LOSE FACE while the whole world watches.
Nah. Don't get hysterical just because ABC News is.
I had that same thought. We could let them have that one, if they promised that would be all....
I hope it hits a liberal university!
No. And no one has blamed either GHW or GW Bush either. Both caved to the Nork's greenmail. Just making a statement about RINOs.
ABC news has been told that the fuel has been loaded. The missile is on the pad.Best thing to do is bring our troops home from Korea and cut off all aid to Seoul. /s
They have the largest military organization on the planet at 9.5 million active, reserve and paramilitary personal. Their standing army is over a million strong. Over 4,000 tanks, 3,000 APCs, 18,000 artillery pieces, nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. 18,000 aircraft in their air force. Heck they even use laser blinding weapons that are outlawed. etc, etc...
South Korea might have better equipment but in almost every regard they are outnumbered greatly. Seoul will fall quickly. Do you really think this commander and chief has the balls to fight back?
Ft. Hood is just to the north of Austin.
So I was listening to Geraldo this week on a radio station in Deep-Blue territory. He was saying that, in the past, the Soviets knew that a full-up nuke exchange meant the end of the world...more or less, and so the Soviets (and the US) did was was needed to avoid that nightmare.
He then extended that to ‘lil Kim, and said that ‘lil thinks the same as the Soviets and therefore we have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO FEAR FROM HIM - he knows if he hits us, we will clobber him. So no need for missile defense.
He then talked about how much money we’re going to be saving by leaving Iraq and Afghanistan...and how TERRIBLE it would be squander those savings on new, expensive, military programs (like missile defense). He then said that the defense contractors are SALIVATING at the thought of all of these new programs starting up and implied (or said, don’t remember) how much he HATES our defense companies.
In other words, he has more fear and hatred of our defense contractors making money than he does of North Korea taking out US cities.
He likely speaks for most Democrat leaders. It is incredibly difficult for conservatives to understand just how much they HATE the military and large defense programs...but they showed the same thing through most of the Cold War...at least starting at Vietnam. There is no other conclusion...they wanted us to LOSE the Cold War, as they simply would not support ANYTHING that could have helped us win - luckily Reagan was able to hold them back, but it was not easy, and it meant that he had to let the rest of their agenda continue to progress (i.e., more welfare, more spending on “education”, housing, etc.).
Considering all of that, there is only ONE THING that could convince Geraldo, and thus most other Democrat leaders, that we live in a dangerous world: And that would be deaths of HUGE NUMBERS OF AMERICANS. I have friends on the West Coast...but it looks like the Dems are giving the NK’s no choice but to strike, so I just hope that they strike a Blue City (or state). They voted for this, and they can deal with the consequences.
