A Canadian mother says her late daughter never recovered from an alleged rape by four teenage boys that left her deeply depressed and bullied.
Leah Parsons on Tuesday said she took her 17-year-old daughter, Rehtaeh, off life-support on Sunday after she attempted suicide last week.
She says one boy took a photo of the alleged assault in 2011 and her daughter was subjected to bullying after it went viral.
Parsons is dissatisfied that police concluded there were no grounds to charge the four boys ...

Condolernces to Leah Parsons and the remainder of Rehtaeh’s family and friends.
“Parsons is dissatisfied that police concluded there were no grounds to charge the four boys ...”
After all, it wasn’t one of their daughters. No grounds for a peasant to bring charges against another peasant. Now, assault one of the daughters of the Knights of the Realm....
I remember the days when Daddy would have had a shotgun and would have solved the problem.
Leah Parsons, may your daughter rest in peace.
I’m sorry for your loss.
Tragic. This young woman must have gone through hell in her final days. Unfortunately, there’s not much info at the link as to why authorities are refusing to criminally charge the boys.
It’s woman’s lib.
Rehtaeh was empowered to go after them with a shotgun.
She knew who was guilty.
Were the four criminals muslim immigrants?
There are a few internet suggestions that this is the case. This is one of the reasons the lid is being kept on their identity. Mustn’t disturb the muslims; after all it’s part of their culture to rape and degrade women.
However, I am tired of the Administration's and MSM/s anti-bullying campaign. Learning how to get someone to stop from pushing you around and making your day miserable is a crucial rite of passage for every child. Hell, you can see it in the animal kingdom, and even in any litter of growing puppies/kittens/piglets. It is not Human Nature, it is NATURE. We need better education for kids (from parents more than schools or government) on how to deal... not a legalistic push for everyone to "be nice".
Do you think you may be equivocating a bit?
Can you really compare typical schoolyard bullying to a gang rape and then photographing that gang rape and tormenting the victim with the photograph.
I believe there is quite a difference between bullying and something that now should be considered, in my opinion, a capital crime.
Your post makes one wonder if that is the reason this girls life is not going unavenged.
If it is ,it is time for some Vigilante justice.
That revenge may be what the liberal, arse-kissing authorities are trying to prevent by not identifying the evil rats who did this.
RCMP in Nova Scotia said that all four boys involved in the investigation are still minors and police are concerned about reprisals.
Its a challenge, Cpl. Scott MacRae said. Were aware of the stuff on social media thats circulating. We dont want people to act on misinformation.
But a lot of bullying was by other girls, her own peers, who were calling her a slut. That is typical when girls react to someone having a 'reputation.' Some people are very brave when they get in a group, and see someone else, singled out on the margins.
Yes, often I share that feeling. But we must keep up our spirits and believe in goodness.
It is so sad to think of what she suffered.
It’s true that many big city girls are evil, but all this taunting went down after the four criminals raped this child.
Too bad they’re not hunted down and eliminated by a masked avenger.
I’d put money on their being part of the rush of muslim immigration into Canada....and Britain and the US for that matter.
Had the victim been black there would be hell to pay.
As it is, there should be hell to pay for these soulless rapist bastards.
Well said. Sadly, under the Obama administration and Eric Holder's 'Just Us' dept., it's SOP.
I suspect that Canada will take the Swedish approach to rape prevention and tell their women to dress more modestly...
or at least hire someone to do it.
Good point, it's the 21st century. It's a shame she killed herself rather than the rapists. She knew the facts and would have had no doubts on their guilt. Too bad there's an ammo shortage and too many gun restrictions.
Had the rapists been white middle or upper class, then we would know about it, well low class should not be excluded either.
So sad there is no justice, for this girl and her family.
Official lack of identity of the evil rapist proves there is something they want to hide.
Yup. And back in those “bad old days”, boys would have been mortally fearful of pissing off such a father in the first place, and kept their hands off a girl.
I remember quite a few fathers who happened to be cleaning the shotgun when I picked up their daughters. I wasn’t even a bad kid, that was just standard procedure.
Possibly, but being from Nova Scotia myself, I think this is more likely:
Cole Harbour High School's catchment covers North Preston, Cherrybrook, Lake Loon and New Road, whose predominant population is black, and has been for more than 200 years.
Cole Harbour High appears in the news in Nova Scotia every so often whenever fights break out between black and white students.
I am not surprised that the race of the boys who raped Rehteah Parsons has not been disclosed, given where it happened.
We will defend our children.
We had an incident in our small town school one time where a boy was being bullied by 3 ner’ do wells and a couple of times he was assaulted and several incidences of public humiliation. This went on for a month or so as recounted by my son (not the victim or perpetrator). Mysteriously one day two of the bullies showed up to school bruised and with shaved heads. It seems a couple of the good boys from the football team took an interest in the situation on their own accord and arranged and after school meeting of the minds with the bullies (again as recounted by my son). The young man was never touched or taunted again and bullying all but dried up in our school for several years.
Edmund Burke’s alleged quote, “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing” came to mind and I had recited it to my son(s) on many occasion. We need more good men to step up today.
“Too bad theyre not hunted down and eliminated by a masked avenger.”
Anonymous, the computer hacking group, has said it will release their names if no justice is brought.
The way I read the article, this girls death IS going unavenged.
And where is Dad? I would not let this slide. There would be nowhere these scum could hide.
Me as well. My high school sweetheart lived with her aunt and uncle. Her uncle would always be cleaning his .38 Colt revolver in the kitchen whenever I picked her up for a date.
I dunna think the laddie liked me much.
Not that I cared. She was worth it.
I never saw a revolver, but that must be a geographic difference. It was always a shotgun, and the fathers always looked far more comfortable with the gun than with me.
“Had the rapists been white middle or upper class, then we would know about it, “
I dunno. Back in my day those were exactly the guys whose daddies helped them get away with it.
Just names?? Include photos and street addresses too. I mean if it is allowed to post all the same info for lawful concealed carry holders, "surely" rapists are worthy of the same treatment.
Amen Brother: Yes an unintended double negative. Sory.
Like the media uproar over the rape/murder of Channon Christian?
Justice will be brought, not just to these but to everyone, by the One who created everything and everyone.
It’s best to remember that in situations such as these. Or realize its fact, for the first time, if one never did before.
Sometimes it’s only God’s job to mete out justice; it’s the trusting among us who can know when. It’s often difficult for everyone.
It’s the Devil who wants us to resort to violence every time in our quest for justice. A good rule of thumb though is, if the only way to obtain “justice” is to commit an act of violence, then it’s most likely out of our hands at that point. Of course there are exceptions.
