Sen. Mark Kirk says the real driving force behind the gun deal that was hatched by bipartisan work was booze and boat retreats.
The Illinois Republican said to reporters that visits to the Black Tie, a yacht owned by Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin, played a large role in the Democratic-Republican come-together over background checks and other legislation related to gun control, Roll Call reported.
You guys really ought to go out to National Harbor and see the Black Tie, which has been much of the reason for much of the bipartisan cooperation around here, he said, as quoted in Roll Call.
Frequent visitors to the luxury vessel: Democrat Sen. Kay Hagan and Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski, Mr. Kirk said.

Pic of yacht here:
By DC standards, that’s a skiff.
He does look like satan in The Bible. He looks more like him every time I see him.
I won’t say anything else since we have been reminded we have no expectation to privacy via electronic means.
in the old days the devious democrats successfully used prostitutes to sway the Republican elite. The world of Washington sex has always prevailed, lobbyists come second although at times the two have overlapped.
“They like us! We’re finally one of the popular kids!” -pretty much the mentality in DC on the part of the reps selling us out.
Prostitutes are so old-school. These days why pay?
My God have mercy on us...
Sounds like they party like MN Vikings.
Murkowski’s the biggest whore of them all. Bitch still calling herself a R? After she was primaried by a R?
You don’t see many yachts in West Virginia. I wonder if the folks back home know about Manchin’s party boat?
I feel sick.
The cockles of my heart are now warmed.
“I feel sick.”
Mass nausea is the only thing these corrupt people have to offer the rest of us.
Too bad they didn’t go on a 3 hour tour...
Hey, Kirk. Unemployment back home is close to 10%. Good to see you mf’s living it up “doing the people’s business.”
God, I despise those people... the whole lot of them. And they wonder why Americans have taken on such cynical attitudes...
I wonder if Manchin provided some young boys for Kirk’s amusement, too?
Wow, where is he getting all that money?
Ted Kennedy was once photographed on a large yacht off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard, in the ever present company of winsome young ladies. Alabama senator, Howell Heflin drawled, “Well, it appears that Senator Kennedy has changed his position on offshore drillin.”
In Washington, that is the grease that silences the squeaky gears.
Maybe a little cash or something of value.
Sen. Swizzlestick, do you have any comments for your constituents?
Sure do, honey pie media lapdog..
WOO hOOO! Let’s Party!!!
She was successfully primaried by a Tea guy. The GOP pulled out all the stops to help Murkowski in the general, in their efforts to undermine Sarah.
The GOPe made sure Murkowski came back.
Once again this proves the old saying “Follow The Money”.
They sure did. They knew she’d have to switch and engineered her Independent run and got ALL the RAT vote, all they had to mark the ballot was ‘MRK’ or “MORK” or anything ‘resembling’ Murkowski.
I believe it was the RSC - Republican Senate Committee - that
did all the dirty work.
Size matters. Tigers and Normans are bigger.
Maybe, Joe Manchan should change the boats name to the Ugly Duckling, Getting Klucky ?
Hookers go to boat party.
No wonder Mark Sanford wants to go to Washington.
Where’s a Nazi U-Boat when you need one?
This morning, I was watching CSPAN and saw Sen. Claire McCaskill stumbling around as she made her way to the front to cast her “AYE” vote to move the gun grab bill forward, and thought, gee, she must’ve hung one over last night.
Then, I saw your post on the party boat...
Yup. She DID hang one over last night!!!
So, I Tweeted her about it. Just shameful!
Thanks for the post. It came in handy!
LOL! Good one!
It is time for a massive rally on Capitol Hill to call out these RINOs and figure out if the Republican Party is going to be put back together. A massive rally completely focused on calling out the GOP and their complete bait and switch on their party’s platform. Where in the 2010 “Pledge to America” did the GOP say anything about a promise to pass gun control laws?
I hope this party goes down in flames; it’s really us vs. them now. The GOP is only pretending to represent conservatives.
Do the French still do boat sinkings?
[[Once again this proves the old saying Follow The Money.]]
When democrats are invovled it does NOT matter if you follow them oney- they will NEVER be punished and they know it-
Never in my life have I been so disgusted with congress. They aren’t even bothering to pretend any more. Why even bother to vote?
Like I’ve been saying, most of the Washington Republicans love the status quo, they can go to all of the parties, and get all of the perks, but don’t have to take any real responsibility for anything, it’s a regular “Life of Reilly” for them.
Kirk's Congressional District (which is the only part of Illinois he ever bothers to visit, aside from a few photo-ops at downstate landmarks) is ivy-league and has some of the wealthiest suburbs in America. Kirk's interaction with voters is limited to golf clubs and lavish resorts. He could care less how the little people live in the other 90% of the state.
And he’s all for homosexual “marriage”. How many true conservatives, fiscal and social, are in congress now and how many will actually vote that way?
I tried to warn freepers that this liberal would move LEFT in the U.S. Senate if he was elected, and he had a 10 year record in Congress of stabbing conservatives in the back after talking them into voting for him.
“.....used prostitutes to sway the Republican elite....”
Don’t know whether they used a prostitute in Kirk’s case. But if they did, it would have had to be a male prostitute...
Well, understanding the breathtaking depravity found in Congress...particularly on the Rat side of the aisle...they probably have to *pay* for most of the things *they* want.
I won’t repeat the mistake of voting for him.
Absurd. He’s voted much better than Durbin. If only we had two Mark Kirks from Illinois.
