Disabled Group Serves First Lawsuit Against Gun Control Law
Hart\ford Courant ^ | April 11, 2013 | Dan Haar

The first lawsuit challenging the state’s new gun control law was served Thursday by a group that represents disabled citizens, charging that the ban on military-style rifles eliminates the main firearm that many disabled people use in exercising their gun rights.

“The AR-15, due to its ease of handling, low recoil, adjustable features and customizability, is particularly suited to disabled persons in order to engage in lawful use of firearms,” said the lawsuit by Disabled Americans for Firearms Rights.

The lawsuit names Gov. Dannel P. Malloy as the defendant, and was served at the office of Attorney General George Jepsen. Scott Ennis of New London, who heads the group, is a named plaintiff — he suffers from hemophilia and has joint damage that requires that he use an adaptable gun in order to safely shoot, he claims in the lawsuit.

Any new state/federal gun control laws are going to land up in the courts.

Yep. CCDL is assembling quite a team for litigation.

Scott Ennis testifying before the task force back in January.

His written testimony

just one of many ~ but up against Malloy, who hates the disabled for driving up Medicade costs, the entire array of legal talent available to the state will be brought to bear against this litigant.

>>the entire array of legal talent available to the state<<

Does that include *Dick* Blumenthal who couldn't win a case if it was handed to him? Meh.

Maybe he'll take time out to advise, unless he is too busy Using Sandy Hook to raise campaign cash

Which I find to be a bit scary - absolutes have no reason to be "arbitrated".

True. But the LIEberals fight dirty. The CT governor did an end-run around the legislative process with the new laws.

So that is where we are, like it or not. Supreme court is gonna be busy.

Remember, all we need is for one conservative federal judge to issue an injunction and the law is gone (at least until it works it's way through the judicial process, which could take years). Watching the liberal gun grabbers head's explode would just be an added bonus....
