While most in the media have harped the bipartisan compromise concerning universal background checks by manchin and toomey, little notice has been given to the fact that feinstein has reintroduced her assault weapon ban as amendments to the manchin/toomey bill.
To see the amendments, go to thomas.loc.gov at the url posted. Then go to 'amendments'. Next, click on each amendment (e.g.711), then 'text of amendment as submitted' to see text of the amendment.

Agreed. I think we have to wake up and admit we are dealing with the early stages of a real ugly dictatorship. I know most of us are still in one stage or another of denial, the normalcy bias thing, but I sure hope that somewhere along the way we start developing a proportionate response.
The AWB is added. Many Democrats and Republicans can’t vote for that. The entire bill collapses and it’s the repubicans’ fault.
Those were all procedurally blocked by Reid, his so-called amendment tree maneuver. They’re playing for the whole bag of marbles and most on our side are either asleep or collaborating.
This is exactly why gun owners are defending the Second Amendment from attacks by the DemocRATS. Nazis like Feinstein just don’t know when to quit. It is the total confiscation of all guns or nothing to piggies like Feinstein. The terms “common sense” and “gun control” being used in the same sentence is offensive to most Americans.

If you think this won’t pass, I think you’re fooling yourselves. We already know there are enough RINOs to get 60 votes. We also know that Boehner will bring it to the floor with enough RINOs in the House.
Manchin/Toomey sounds unnecessary.
It simply targets the law abiding. Take a look at the stats for NICS prosecutions currently:
76,142 individuals failed a gun purchase background check in 2010.
19 percent of the denials (13,862) were based on the applicant being a fugitive from justice.
Another 2.5 percent (1,923) involved felons and unlawful firearms possession.
Only 13 of the 76,142 failed background checks resulted in guilty pleas.
Nothing could be easier to prosecute than a felon attempting to purchase a firearm. You’ve got at least one witness, plus it’s on film, the perp filled out the paperwork and signed it - it’s an orgy of evidence.
Worse, you don’t just have federal charges, but state charges. If the feds don’t prosecute, the state can.
That so few ever get prosecuted tells the entire story.

Surprised???? This is how she got the AWB passed in 1994. The plan all along with Harry Reid was to recreate that situation giving the yeah votes cover for an unpopular AWB........Its all BS to me....
Now, if you vote against the bill you’ll be demonized as being against background checks to prevent criminals from owning “assault weapons.” None of the stuff they do in DC is what it appears to be.......Congress should have to live up to it’s own “Truth in Advertising” laws!
Funny how the Dems are now saying that the Affordable Health Care Act was never intended to reduce Healthcare costs......This after premiums are skyrocketing and people are losing the plans.....
