Oath of Office - U.S. Senate
senate.gov ^

Posted on 04/12/2013 11:58:21 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

Upon taking office, senators-elect must swear or affirm that they will "support and defend the Constitution." The president of the Senate or a surrogate administers the oath to newly elected or re-elected senators. The oath is required by the Constitution; the wording is prescribed by law.

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Any senator who fails to support and defend the second amendment which most definitely is part of the constitution is a TRAITOR!!

Traitors beware!!

DON'T TREAD ON ME!!

When are the pro gun pro US rallys scheduled?

Ok ,

When is maybe a one luncheon scheduled to timidly speak out against whats happening?

We are walking our kids up the planks and into the cattle cars.

I'm no constitutional expert but what happens if they break that oath which obviously they are doing?

Absolutely nothing. Same for Representatives, Judges, and the President.

That, IMO, is the fatal flaw in the Constitution.

Thank you, Mr. Robinson! By drafting this legislation, the authors have already violated their oaths! Those that have expressed support for this travesty have already violated their oath! They should be removed and jailed as traitors to the Republic. It is no coincidence that the little rotund dictator is acting up in the midst of the political class attempting to disarm the citizens.

The thing is, besides the 2A, these miscreants in DC have violated their oaths time and time again on all the other points, articles and stipulations in the Constitution. They are now inching toward the obliteration of that last tripwire, the 2A.

Prior to the seventeenth, errant senators could be recalled by their states. I think the only way they can be removed now is if they are expelled by their peers. Fat chance. The 17th was the opening for all out treason! And that’s exactly what they’ve been doing for the last 100 years since it was ratified. But it’s all boiling to a head now. When they start trying to disarm we the people, they’re going to get more than they bargained for.

The second amendment is not open to debate, compromise or negotiation!!

Never give-in, never give-up, never surrender!!

DON’T TREAD ON ME!!

Thank you. Not too many people realize this basic fact that was changed in the Constitution from its original intent. If they had to answer to their representatives from the House they would think different. The Founders had it right, those that changed it insured this kind of idiocy we see today. By the way, good chance that Bill Clinton would have been convicted had this not changed.

That’s right. I am with you as well.

Pick your sides, people. It’s just that way, now.

We are dealing people with evil intent.

Gun control never works, only the law-abiding will be unarmed. Once unarmed they will be compliant of criminals and Big Government. The public will have a difficult time figuring out the difference between the two.

Democrats do not care about children, if they did they wouldn't be so damn pro-abortion

Rats are not naive in any sense, the want undisputed power, no opposition and that is evil. They will use any incident or persons. The ends will justify the means.

17-A was certainly a catastrophically bad idea, but the lack of an enforcement provision was there from the beginning.

Perhaps, but at least the states could recall the senators who betrayed them.

I just got off the phone with Manchin’s office at 304-342-5855. I had just gotten an unsolicited political call from Gifford’s husband (the Asstronaut) telling me to call Manchin and thank him for his latest BS vote.

I called and gave them more of my mind than I can afford to right now.

Right ...

Now all I can do is send nastygrams to Manchin the Traitor and Rockefeller the Decerebrate.

And put in a plug for a possible good candidate: Pat McGeehan for US Senate 2014.

Great! But I do believe it’s going to require a simultaneous “pitchforks and torches” march on DC and all state capitols. We tea party patriots need to ratchet it up a couple notches.

The political elite run America now and they could care less about “WE THE PEOPLE” once they have been elected or reelected. What happened to the filibuster? Huh?
