I want to attend.

I can offer some instruction in riot controll tactics and formations, and in the use of shields and batons defensively.

I personally think that June 10th is too far out, time-wise. At the pace these traitors in Washington are burying the Bill of Rights, we’re nearly too late as it is.

I’d really like to see a wave movement start up across the country as soon as possible.

Agreed, no display of weapons.

Most of us at the TCMS have CHLs, we can carry, but only concealed, pretty much anywhere in Texas not a federal enclave.

But if they pass another gun ban, it's time to stop being so politically correct. We have the Right to Bear arms, and it's even legal in our state, so we should do so visibly. Back in the day, as Humblegunner puts it, I attended a few anti-gun control events at the state capital. One of them featured cannon. Two of them, which were fired, without shot of course, from time to time during the rally.. right on the grounds of the state capital. At another such rally, a bunch of guys were dress as "Regulators", and were visibly packing.. black powder cap and ball "non guns", back before Texas had concealed carry. At one rally, I think the one with the cannon, there was a group with military long arms from various eras, from the Texas Revolution, through WW-II and Korea. All that made the capital police rather nervous, but they learned to live with it, since it was perfectly legal, and pre cleared with them. I the sponsoring group was called Peaceable Texans for Firearms Rights .

A man who was a U. Texas student during the Whitman shooting affair, and who grabbed his M1 Carbine to provide suppressive fire from the library balcony, spoke to the group.

I think I'm in that picture, but I'm not certain of it.

But did all that stop the Brady Act and Assault Weapons ban.

Nope!

TR, I certainly appreciate your organizational sketch, but I really think the time has passed for those sorts of rallies.

What we really need is a spontaneous, overwhelming, grass roots citizen response to the very real crisis now occurring in Washington. Something a lot less clinical and super organized, like the Tea Party rallies of a couple years ago.

The Commies aren’t going to listen to a bunch of well-mannered, peacefully assembled patriots waving flags and making speeches. That will only make them laugh harder at us than they did the last time.

We need to vent. At them. Up close and personal. In our millions. And we need to disobey a few stupid regulations while we’re at it. We’ve got to be noisy, and pissed off enough to put the fear of God into these people.

It’s that, or the trajectory of events is going to close off every other option to right this thing, except one. We may wind up with that sole remaining option anyway, but if we’re going to muster one more time, we’d better make it effective.

Tom, I’m not talking about rioting. I’m talking about taking this rally/march thing to it’s next logical level, and making it an appropriate response to what we’ve endured these last four to five years.

Think civil disobedience - not lawlessness and violence. The attitude of this thing has got to step up, or we’ll be ignored again.

.a national recall campaign against them?

Nice thought, but it would not be Constitutional. The only provision for removing a siting CongressCritter is a Fox guarding the henhouse sort of thing:

Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, punish its Members for disorderly Behaviour, and, with the Concurrence of two thirds, expel a Member.

I could get to Austin on Thursday night, easy. Could even stay with a daughter. (They are anarchists, so tend to be pro arms rights)

Teaparty.org has no physical address I could find, except a mail box called a suite.

Local tea parties are the best.

That is what TPP and TTP.net are good at is having a list of tea party “chapters” that they opened up to when the movement started. Many of the TPP local tea parties don't necessarily have anything to do with the corporate entity at the top.

You can go to TPP’s website and click on states and find local tea partys. Some may be defunct, but many of them may be still operational, just waiting for something to be organized for them to take part of.

Something this big, even TPP and TTP.net should be involved if they want to. I think it will be too big for them to take over if they are so inclined. Bearing in mind that they may be able to mobilize a lot of tea partiers, good fundraising opportunity for them. I'm always cautious of any TPM group whose main function is to raise money.

The Tea Party dot net has lists of many tea parties also IIRC that can be contacted and encouraged to participate.

Oh and Justin Phillips of The Tea Party Nation is one of the good guys too, I've worked with him satisfactorily in the past. One thing in his favor is that it is listed as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. That's got to be a badge of honor!

Phillips knows quite well the dangers of Islam, in fact called for Ellison to be removed from office.

There are several other nationwide groups also that I don't have time to discuss right now.

Here is a Video Which Captures the Spirit of The Tea Party Movement

Thanks for the ping and post. Keep us updated, pretty please.

I meant for each of us, in our own districts, to start a recall.

My comment sort of got it’s own legs and ran away from me.

I think it would be refeshing to have an event without any elected officials.

Cruz is saying the right things right now and I wish him well, but he better not become a GOP cheerleader when the GOP is doing things wrong.

I don’t want to see him endorsing Second Amendment flip floppers in 2014 or other GOP-E incumbents.

You may be correct on time not being on our side but the British had a lot of troops in America at the time of the revolution. And the Tea Party rallies in early 2009 seemed too little, too late but it quickly became a movement with some good results.

while I would like to turn back Obambi’s agenda it will not happen until we have a true American for president and more elected representatives.

The hope is that a big rally primarily in DC and in concert with other home town rallies will rejuvenate the tea party movement.

If we sit around we definitely know that nothing will happen.

You have made my morning, and Good Morning to you FRiend! Amen. OathKeepers may be an "in". Thank You. That is all I needed to see to make my day start off in God's Heaven and begin this day at FR.
