Theft of Obama’s teleprompter, lectern gets man 7-year prison term
Washington Post ^ | 4/11/13 | Justin Jouvenal

It was no Republican plot, but someone made off with the teleprompter that has been the subject of conservative jokes about President Obama. Also stolen were the presidential seals. And Obama’s lectern.

In fact, Eric Brown stole enough equipment from the office of the president that he could have staged his own presidential news conference — if he hadn’t pawned some of the gear at shops in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties.

In federal court in Virginia on Thursday, the Richmond man, 49, was sentenced to seven years in prison for brazenly taking a truck containing $200,000 worth of audio equipment used by the president.

Shows the lack of security this administration has. Not surprising really.

I don’t think it is because of a ‘lack’ of security, but more of the ‘type’.

A story yesterday indicated that normally a crime like this carries a 3-year sentence. This guy got 7 years. The official reason is that he got 7 years because he committed a crime against our fearless leader he wanted to avoid prosecution for some other stuff.

If this idiot had driven out to California and pawned the stuff there....I think he would have gotten away with the episode. In this case....he just drove twenty miles and found the next pawn shop. Not much in the way of smarts....if you ask me.

I'm surprised the Post mentioned the jokes - it might lead the uninformed to ask some uncomfortable questions about why the jokes were being made. :)

While I can't condone theft and I seriously doubt the criminal even knew what he was stealing at the time, I'd commute his sentence for public service. He probably spared us at least fifteen minutes from the incessant nonstop propaganda machine while they had to find a replacement TOTUS.

He was able to be that close to dear leader and the presidential secured area. Very shocking.

Probably would have made a lot more sense than what we've seen from the regular user.

Were the words on the teleprompter written phonetically so the twice unconstitutionally elected Kenyan born communist could read them?

“TWO DEY MESHELL AND I WANT TO FICKS THE KON STA TWO SHUN. THE SEKAND A MEND MANT HAS TO B TAY KAN OUT OF THA KON STA TWO SHUN..’

Too bad he got caught. He could have held his own press conferences in Cognito, and they would probably have been more interesting and had a bigger audience.

Stealing the POTUS’ Teleprompter is stealing Obama’s very soul.

Therefore, since we know who steals souls, Eric Brown must be Satan.

PS. This proves Obama can not be Satan.

PPS To whom does Obama bow? That fat Muslim to whom he bowed is his real master.
